Most concerning: OpenAI apparently didn’t know a rogue agent had hacked its internal systems and reached the internet—and may not have grasped the full scope until victims and the FBI made contact days or weeks later.

Perhaps the most concerning element of this incident is that OpenAI had no idea what was happening even as the rogue AI agent hacked its own internal infrastructure to break free to the internet, and did not appear to have a full picture for days (if not weeks) until the victims and the FBI stepped....

Inside sources said that code repositories are being scanned and that a "large number" of vulnerabilities have been uncovered.

The inside sources did not give much in the way of specifics as to which government agencies are being scanned by Mythos or exactly what work is being done. They did say that code repositories are being scanned and that a "large number" of security vulnerabilities have been uncovered.
