𝗦𝗣 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗤𝟯 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗳.

The overall electricity tariff (before GST), including tariffs for non-households, will increase by an average of 17.5% or 4.66 cents per kWh compared with the previous quarter — effective 1 July 2026.

This is not a surprise. Q2's tariff only captured 2 weeks of the fuel surge from the Middle East conflict. Q3 prices in the full April–June impact.

For Singapore businesses:
— On the regulated tariff? This hits your bill from tomorrow
— On a fixed contract with a retailer? Check your expiry date — Q4 direction is still uncertain
— On SP Wholesale? Your exposure to real-time market volatility just got more relevant

SP Group noted the situation in the Middle East remains uncertain — and that Q4 tariffs may decrease if conditions improve. But no business should rely on that without reviewing their options first.

Most Singapore businesses know about fixed rate contracts. But there's another plan type that often flies under the radar: the Discount-off-Tariff (DOT) plan.

Here's the key difference:

Fixed rate — you pay the same rate regardless of what the market does. Full price certainty.

DOT plan — you pay a percentage discount below SP's regulated tariff. When EMA raises that tariff, your discounted rate rises with it.

Based on AECO Energy's market analysis, DOT plan holders may see an increase when Q3 tariffs are announced.

We're looking for an Energy Analyst — Sales & Service Support to join our Singapore team. 🇸🇬

This is an entry-level role for an analytical, curious professional who wants to build a career in energy markets — with hands-on exposure across sales support, client account servicing, and energy market analysis.

What you'll be doing:
— Supporting Singapore sales and existing client accounts

— Analysing customer energy usage data for tenders and proposals
— Building and maintaining spreadsheet models for energy pricing
— Supporting market research on supply, demand, pricing, and regulation
— Assisting with REC transaction administration (LGC, I-REC, TIGR)
— Coordinating with AECO's Singapore and Philippines-based ESEM team

What we're looking for:
— Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics, Maths, or Business
— 1–3 years in an analytical or client-facing role
— Strong Excel and numerical skills
— Curious, organised, and eager to grow
— Mandarin a plus for our Singapore market focus
