We are going to be running our paid Nornir Automation Course starting on Thursday, August 27th. This online course is intended for network engineers who have familiarity with Python, but want more experience using the Nornir automation framework to simplify systematic management of inventory and concurrency.

We are running our Ansible Network Automation Course starting this Thursday, July 23rd. For more details and to sign-up see:

This course is an Ansible course focusing on network automation. It consists of eight weekly lessons delivered via email (using videos) and covering the following topics:

CLASS1 - Ansible Fundamentals
CLASS2 - Variables, Modules, Network Fact Gathering
CLASS3 - Conditionals, Loops, and Configuration Templating
CLASS4 - Making Network Configuration Changes (Basics)
CLASS5 - Making Network Configuration Changes (Part2)
CLASS6 - Imports, Includes, and Roles
CLASS7 - Parsers and Dynamic Inventory
CLASS8 - Additional Ansible Techniques and Debugging

The course also has a lab environment consisting of Cisco IOS/IOS-XE, Cisco NX-OS, Arista EOS, and Juniper devices.

The course is largely self-paced with the main gating item being the lab environment. Access to the lab environment ends approximately eight to ten weeks after the last course lesson is sent (so there is quite a bit of additional time to use the lab environment).

We are running our free Learning Python for Network Engineers course starting Tuesday, June 16th. For more details and to sign-up see: https://pynet.twb-tech.com/free-python-course.html

This course is intended for network engineers that have some basic familiarity with programming (for example, Perl, shell scripting, other languages) and who would like to learn Python. The course covers Python fundamentals, but using examples and exercises that are more relevant to network engineers.

No previous Python experience is required. The course was created using Python 3.11, but any version of Python3 after Python 3.8 should be sufficient.

The course will consist of the following lessons:

Week1 - Why Python, the REPL, Strings
Week2 - Numbers, Booleans, Files, Lists, Tuples
Week3 - Conditionals, Loops, and List Comprehensions
Week4 - Sets, Dictionaries, and Exceptions
Week5 - Regular Expressions
Week6 - Functions
Week7 - Classes and Objects (Part1)
Week8 - Classes and Objects (Part2)
Week9 - Libraries, sys.path, Virtual Environments, and pip
Week10 - Modules and Packages

The course format is a lesson a week for 10 weeks. The lessons are all delivered via email and consist of videos, exercises and additional content. The course is largely self-paced.
