2026 marks a special milestone for the OnDefend as we celebrate 10 years of keeping our clients secure.

Celebrating a decade is no small thing for our team of OnDefenders. Together, we’ve built this organization through:

→ A global pandemic that rewrote how the world works
→ Market swings that tested every plan we ever made
→ Emerging tech that is nearly always flipping the industry on its head
→ Every hard, unglamorous moment that won’t ever make it into a highlight reel

Our CEO, Chris Freedman, put it best, “We are the island of misfit toys, but we have gone against the winds, the trade winds, and we've succeeded against that.”

That's the real story behind 10 years of OnDefend. Not a straight line. A crew who keeps showing up, keeps ahead of the curve, and keeps pushing offensive security forward for our clients and for each other.

Check out this clip from Chris as he reflects on the past decade and read more about our 10 year journey here: https://hubs.la/Q04vlNVb0

It didn't take a sophisticated attack to knock water systems offline in a dozen states.

ICYMI: Our own Aaron Rosenmund put it plainly in his interview with CNN. The devices running these systems were never built with cybersecurity in mind, and when they end up directly exposed to the internet, it doesn't take much to compromise them. No advanced tradecraft required. Just an open door.

That's the real risk with critical infrastructure - not necessarily that adversaries are getting more advanced, but that too many systems are still standing wide open.

What does it take to keep landing in the top five of the Jacksonville Business Journal Fast 50?

OnDefend CEO Chris Freedman shares, "When you do good work, and you create outcomes that provide value, it surfaces itself with revenue and awards."

OnDefend is No. 686 on the 2026 Inc. 5000. Past honorees on this list also include Microsoft, Meta, Oracle, and more.

That’s good company to be in. But we’re even prouder of how we got here and how we intend to keep the momentum going.

As OnDefend CEO, Chris Freedman shares, "We define our own destiny at OnDefend. So, when there is a demand or need in the market, we meet it."

That's the secret sauce, really. The market needs real adversary testing, not another checklist. We’ve built the team and the technology to deliver it. Growth followed and keeps coming.

What does it take to think like an adversary well enough to break into a nuclear facility’s steam loop, ground an entire fleet of trains, or hijack a swarm of drones all without touching a single real network?

Take a look inside Cyber Shield with Aaron Rosenmund, OnDefend Managing Director of Tradecraft & Programs, as he helps answer these questions.

Cyber Shield is the Department of Defense's largest unclassified cyber training exercise in U.S. history, and we're lucky enough to get an inside look with Aaron who also serves a U.S. Air Force 1st Lieutenant and the OPFOR (red team) lead for Cyber Shield.

Most security programs are built around point-in-time testing. A test, a report, a remediation list, repeat. But…

Attackers don't operate on a schedule.

Introducing OnDefend Continuous Attack Path Elimination (CAPE).

CAPE isn't just another pen test. It’s how OnDefend delivers continuous offensive security coverage that matches how AI-powered adversaries actually move through modern environments.
It's security testing built to find the hidden attack chains, control gaps, and architectural flaws that standard testing walks right past.

Outpace adversaries. Reduce risk. Eliminate attack paths.
This is where offensive security is moving. OnDefend built it first.

And the hits just keep coming! 🎉

Earlier this week, we celebrated being named to the national Inc. 5000 list. We're now happy to share OnDefend has officially ranked #2 on the Jacksonville Business Journal’s Fast 50 list of the fastest-growing companies in Northeast Florida.

This is the fourth year in the row our team has made the list, and we’ve made the jump from #4 last year to #2 in 2026.

Proud to be in the room last night with some of the best businesses in our region and even prouder of every member of the OnDefend team whose talent, drive, and dedication has led to this achievement.

The full story behind our Inc. 5000 recognition is live.

No. 686 on the 2026 Inc. 5000. Top 14% nationally in three-year revenue growth. That doesn't happen by accident. That's years of doing the kind of offensive security work that actually earns results and doesn't just check a box.

We’re so excited we can finally share…
OnDefend has officially been ranked number 686 in the 2026 Inc. 5000, America’s most prestigious ranking of the nation’s fastest growing companies.

At 686, OnDefend is in the top 14% of the country for three-year revenue growth.

Numbers like that don't come from luck. They are the result of enterprise organizations choosing to validate their security with our team of experts with vast experience defending against real, adaptive adversaries instead of a static checklist.

“We work tirelessly to innovate and help our customers outpace emerging and increasingly AI-powered adversaries. We partner with them to solve problems others cannot, which is why some of the world’s largest and most complex organizations trust OnDefend. When we deliver meaningful, actionable value to our customers and our industry, the impact reveals itself through growth and recognition, both of which we are deeply honored to receive,” said OnDefend CEO Chris Freedman.

To every client who has trusted us with the work that truly matters, and to every OnDefender who continues to show up and perform at the top of your game, this one belongs to you.

The goal is not only to find a conventional cybersecurity vulnerability. A device could function exactly as its manufacturer designed it to while still transmitting information to an unwanted destination or containing a capability that creates a security risk.

“It’s not necessarily a cybersecurity vulnerability,” Rosenmund said. “It’s something working as intended, just not in a way that we want it to work.”

That distinction becomes particularly important in critical infrastructure, including energy, communications and financial services." in a recent interview with the Business Journal, OnDefend Managing Director Aaron Rosenmund describes why hardware security testing is more than simply discovering a vulnerability but actually understanding how the device works.
