Tuesday’s NHL Frozen Frenzy was one for the record books!

16 staggered games and 112 goals, the second-most on a single gameday in league history. And SMT delivered more than 400 live graphics across the broadcasts. 🙌

Our technicians monitored 10+ critical SMT systems at every site, including NHL HITS scoring, NHL TVI+, OASIS data management, OPTICS pointers and Puck and Player Tracking, so every player, puck and goal was captured.

100+ SMT team members made it happen:
🏒 48 onsite operators (3 per arena)
🏒 7 regional managers
🏒 38 operators and engineers in Durham ROOSTER
🏒 17 LOTS technicians and game monitors in Jacksonville

Last night, our CEO Gerard J. Hall and Corporate VP of Marketing & Creative Patricia Hopkins joined the industry’s best at the Television Academy’s Saban Media Center in Los Angeles for the Engineering, Science & Technology Emmy Awards.

We’re proud to share that SMT was nominated for an Emmy for Exceptional Achievement in Broadcast Technology for our work on NFL's Thursday Night Football: Prime Vision. 🏈

Today’s the day! 🏒❄️ The 2026 Frozen Frenzy is here, with all 32 NHL teams on the ice.

Our SMT technicians, operators, and support staff will be working throughout the day and night to deliver NHL HITS scoring, OASIS data management, puck and player tracking, graphics, and more as the games get underway, starting at 6pm ET.

Yesterday, we helped transform the iconic Cincinnati Open facility into an outdoor collegiate basketball event that not only brought Ohio rivals together but shined a light on mental health and su***de prevention.

Together with our partners, we delivered the primary LED display infrastructure for this unique-style event, connecting fans to the action and to the mission behind it.

Petit Le Mans brought our 11th consecutive season with the IMSA WeatherTech Championship to a close. 🏁

This year marked a big step forward on the IMSA World Feed: a completely refreshed broadcast look, led by SMT Creative Studio, featuring a refined pylon, upgraded insert graphics, full-screen elements, and telemetry visuals, all designed to create a more streamlined, driver- and class-forward approach.

Proud of how the new look landed this year, and we already have some exciting things in store for 2027. 🙌

Football-packed weekends are back, so we’re taking you behind the scenes of one of the most familiar parts of the broadcast: the 1st & Ten-line system. 🏈

What looks simple on screen requires lots of preparation before kickoff, along with fast, focused work throughout the game. Every week, our operators are traveling to stadiums, calibrating cameras, and laying the lines in real-time, ensuring they're both seamless and accurate.

🏒 With the Carolina Hurricanes' second home game tonight, we're taking a look back at when Spectrum News 1 North Carolina stopped by our suite to hear how our puck- and player-tracking technology, a core part of our NHL partnership, powers everything from the league's stats to the animated ice projections at Lenovo Center's playoff watch parties.
