This week, Cristian Gherhes, our Managing Director of Digital Assets/Stablecoins, attended the Edinburgh Decentralised Finance Summit 2026.💰
Key insights:
⚠️ “Who is going to make me whole when, not if, things go wrong?” A key issue deterring TradFi from engaging with digital assets is the lack of regulation and certainty around liability and accountability. It boils down to trust.
🔑 Tokenized asset volumes, on the other hand, are on the rise alongside stablecoins, indicating a growing appetite for digital assets from the public.
⛓️ Blockchain and tokenization address the critical problems of liquidity and ability to transact at all times: “This is like cash, but it settles on a Sunday.”
‼️ Infrastructure attacks, such as seed phrase compromise, remain the biggest security challenge.
🤝 The consensus in the room was that DeFi requires better governance and security in order to enjoy wider adoption, both by TradFi and the wider public.
At Trust Stamp, we are creating the identity infrastructure for digital assets to build trust in the ecosystem. Our unique biometrics technology embedded in the Wallet of Wallets (WoW) is making the digital assets world more secure and accessible to traditional finance and the public.
