🧠 Right now, Veronika is deeply interested in soft skills. 🚀 Her biggest step out of the comfort zone was switching from corporate law to business analysis in tech. That decision reshaped her professional path, opening space for deeper meaning and tougher challenges, with steady growth driven by experience rather than titles.

Let us introduce you to Titas Partikas – a software developer whose career took a new direction through Sourcery Academy. 👋

Before entering the IT field, Titas spent several years working as a bartender. It was a fast paced, people focused environment where he often met software developers. Conversations behind the bar slowly turned into curiosity about how technology works and what it really means to build software.

Titas began learning programming on his own, exploring online resources and experimenting independently. While this helped him understand the basics, it also made one thing clear: without structure, it was difficult to know what to focus on and how to move forward.
That’s when Sourcery Academy became a turning point. The academy offered a clear learning path, hands on tasks and the opportunity to work alongside others who were also starting their journey in tech. For Titas, it wasn’t just about learning to code – it was about understanding teamwork, real development processes and which skills matter in practice.

After completing the academy, Titas started his career as a junior software developer. Over time, through continuous learning and hands on experience, he grew into a senior role.
Looking back, Titas sees Sourcery Academy as the step that helped transform curiosity into a clear career direction – proving that with the right learning environment and commitment, a completely new professional path is possible.

Meet Šarūnas Karpovičius – a Junior Software Tester who turned a long held interest into a new career. 👋

For ten years, Šarūnas worked as a truck driver, following a stable routine day after day. Although he often thought about changing his profession, responsibility for his family and concerns about risking financial stability kept him from taking that step.

Technology had interested him since childhood, and with encouragement from his family, Šarūnas finally decided to try. He began exploring programming on his own, spending evenings and weekends on the Harvard CS50 course and building personal projects along the way.

A defining moment came when he discovered Sourcery Academy. The structured learning and practical approach helped him move from self study into the IT field with more confidence.

After graduating from the academy, Šarūnas joined the team as a Junior Software Tester. With the support of a mentor and his project team, he quickly adapted and began contributing to real projects.
Today, Šarūnas continues to grow as a specialist, aiming not only to test but to create long term value through his work.

Lijana’s career journey shows that growth doesn’t always mean following a straight line. After more than eight years in HR, she felt ready to challenge herself and explore something new.

She began learning, experimenting and gradually building technical knowledge – first exploring software testing, then discovering her path in business analysis. The process took time and determination, especially when the transition required creating her own way forward.

Today, Lijana works as a Business Analyst and Team Leader, combining analytical work with leadership and strong people skills. Her background in psychology and communication allows her to navigate complex situations, understand different perspectives, and create meaningful impact in her role.
