Meet Rūta – from student to Junior Developer. 🚀

🟣 Before Sourcery Academy, Rūta was in the middle of her studies, thinking, "I want to work on something practical, in a setting that actually resembles the job I'm chasing." The academy offered exactly that – a real project, a real team, and real mentorship. It felt like the closest thing to the real world she could get while still learning.
🟣 She almost didn't apply. Classic imposter syndrome – that feeling that everyone else would be further ahead and more experienced. But she's learned that feeling usually shows up right before a really good opportunity.
🟣 What surprised her most? How genuine and supportive everyone was – not just her teammates, but the Sourcery staff too. She was ready for a competitive atmosphere, but instead found people cheering each other on, sharing solutions, and celebrating every small win.
🟣Her advice for anyone thinking about applying: "Just apply! You don't need to feel 100% ready, and you definitely don't need to know all the ins and outs of a tech stack. All you need is curiosity and the willingness to keep showing up no matter what – the rest you'll learn as you go."

This weekend, our team set off on a kayaking adventure along the beautiful yet challenging Ūla River. 🛶

Now in its eighth year, our summer kayaking tradition continues to bring colleagues together, with experienced paddlers sharing tips and encouragement with first-time adventurers. Every bend and fallen tree in the river challenged our strategic thinking while bringing a sense of adventure, plenty of laughter, and an even stronger team spirit.

This year's 3x3 basketball tournament brought together colleagues from Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda for a full afternoon of friendly competition 🏀

Seven teams took to the court, with a great mix of familiar faces and first-timers making for a fantastic field, and plenty of energy on and off the court throughout the day.

A big kudos to everyone who came out to cheer the players on, and a massive well done to all seven teams – every game was hard-fought and every player brought their best.

Some birthdays get balloons. Our Vilnius Žalgiris office birthday got cake and a walking tour through Šnipiškės, umbrellas up and spirits higher – because apparently rain doesn't get a say in how we celebrate. 🎂🌂 Along the way we spotted old wooden houses that have quietly watched Vilnius grow into what it is today.

To everyone who showed up rain and all, cut the cake and kept the mood light even in a downpour – thank you! This is what team spirit looks like at Cognizant Vilnius office 💙⛅️

This winter and spring, several of our colleagues dedicated their time to volunteering at the Fabijoniškės Social Care Home, where they regularly met with residents over tea, conversation, and crochet needles. Together, they shared stories, laughter, and meaningful moments while working toward a special goal - making the residents’ common room warmer and more welcoming.

Over six months, our volunteers lovingly handcrafted colorful pillows, storage baskets, and sweet holders. Every piece was made with patience, care, and a desire to bring comfort and joy to others.

A heartfelt thank you to our volunteers for proving that small acts of kindness can make a big difference. 💙
