What do retro games, flipbook animation, and Scrabble have in common? They were all part of our latest Test Automation Hackathon. 🎮

Earlier this month, eight teams tackled ten challenges throughout the day, putting their problem-solving and teamwork to the test. AI tools helped level the playing field, keeping the competition close right up to the final moments.

In the end, the results weren’t decided by code alone. A flipbook animation contest and an intense Scrabble tournament became the ultimate tiebreakers, proving that creativity and quick-thinking matter just as much as technical skills. 💡

At Cognizant, we're pet-friendly all year round! But once a year, our offices get a little fluffier!

This week, our annual Pet Day brought plenty of wagging tails and happy paws to our Vilnius and Kaunas offices. We even had a curious feline visitor stop by, bringing even more smiles to everyone's faces!

We also hosted an insightful session where Laura Sakarnyte and Austeja Zukyte from DR.VET spoke about pet health and well-being, helping colleagues better understand how to care for their beloved companions and recognize when professional veterinary care may be needed.

Changing careers is never easy, especially when you've spent nearly 20 years building your identity around one profession. Our Junior Software Engineer, Mikas Dulevičius, knows this firsthand.

Before joining the IT industry, Mikas spent two decades as a professional musician, performing at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre 🎵What began as a curiosity about programming, first through self-learning and later through formal studies, ultimately became a life-changing career move.

For anyone considering a career change but hesitant to take the first step, Mikas has a simple piece of advice: "You have to jump into the water and learn to swim. If you wait until you completely believe in yourself, you may end up waiting forever."

We are proud to have colleagues whose stories inspire us to embrace new challenges and remember that it's never too late to start a new chapter 💪

Learning and growth are an important part of life at Cognizant. Sometimes we learn new technologies, and sometimes we learn from the experiences of those around us.

Last week, we celebrated Career Week with three inspiring events in our Vilnius and Kaunas offices, while also welcoming colleagues who joined remotely. Our speakers shared their career journeys and lessons learned, and also experiences that shaped their professional growth. For example, our Delivery Leads, Aušra and Liudvikas, began their careers at Cognizant by joining a language training batch and have since grown alongside the company into leadership roles.

his was one fun Monday in our LINK office – we welcomed our associates and their little ones to the terrace for a special Kids’ Day Picnic 🥳 From exciting VR experiences and colorful face painting to temporary tattoos and sweet cotton candy, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

In May, we said we were looking forward to our next marathon 🏃🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

This Sunday, the Cognizant team was back at the starting line, once again challenging ourselves by running a half marathon or joining the crowd for the 10 km and 5 km races🏅No matter the distance, the energy of running together made it an unforgettable experience!

Now, we’re wrapping up the running season and looking forward to enjoying other sports, but we’ll be back on the course next spring. There’s still time to join us and run the next race under the Cognizant flag 💪

This week was all about AI, innovation, and teamwork - our very first IOA AI Hackathon was held in the office! 🥳

27 people, 9 teams, and three hours to turn ideas into real, working tools. Using Microsoft Copilot and Claude, teams built presentations and practical solutions they could use in their everyday work 💻 Some participants had little to no prior experience with AI tools before the event, making the results genuinely impressive.

Every single team brought something creative and valuable to the table, so picking winners wasn’t an easy task. Yet, huge congratulations to our winning teams: Pirmasis Zilvinas, Pilotai, Toolsai, and CTRL ALT! 👏👏👏

Sometimes, a little creative break during the workday is exactly what we need! ☀️

Our colleagues recently organized a macramé workshop, giving everyone the chance to step away from their screens and get a bit creative 💕 It was a wonderful opportunity to slow down and try something new, connect with colleagues, and create a handmade piece to take home.

This was the second macramé workshop, bringing together both returning participants and those trying macramé for the very first time. 👌 No matter what their level of experience, everyone enjoyed the opportunity to learn and spend some time together.

Meet Tomas – our teammate who swapped Sales for Software Engineering. 🚀

"Honestly? I just really wanted to work here," Tomas says. He'd heard great things about the company and Sourcery Academy felt like the perfect way in.

It started as an adventure: exploring IT, building something on his own, just out of curiosity. That curiosity eventually turned into a career he genuinely loves.

The most valuable thing he learned? How to develop software as part of a team. Switching careers into IT with minimal experience, after working on projects alone, that was a real breakthrough for him.

His advice for anyone thinking about applying: "Be ready, be confident, and don't hit the snooze button on this career-boosting opportunity. Just remember: technical skills get you noticed, but being a great teammate helps you win."
