Today, we commemorate the anniversary of the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia on 21 August 1968.
We remember a time when the sovereignty of our country was violated and the aspirations for greater freedom were forcibly suppressed. Remembering this history is important not only to honor those who lived through it, but also to recognize the value of the freedoms we enjoy today.
