Over the past weeks, our team engaged citizens and local stakeholders through afforestation activities and a mountain walk in Troodos as part of the EduCyprus-CSF project. These initiatives introduced participants to Climate-Smart Forestry (CSF) and highlighted practical ways to support sustainable forest management. During the Troodos walk, participants explored local tree species and learned how disturbances influence the distribution of Pinus nigra and Pinus brutia, the two dominant pine species in Cyprus's forests. The activities were directly linked to our recent work using satellite data and AI to study forests and detect forest disturbances across Cyprus.
EduCyprus-CSF is a sub-project of the FORWARDS Project, which aims to build a Europe-wide forest observatory, deliver practical insights related to climate change and its impact on forests, and support informed forestry decision-making. We're excited to be part of the project ClimAid Research Project: Promoting a Sustainable Climate Transition for Cypriot Museums! ClimAid aspires to set a new standard for climate resilience in museums, blending technological innovation, cultural sensitivity, and strategic stakeholder engagement to protect and enhance Cyprus' cultural heritage for future generations.
Our role in the project will involve assessing the climate-related risks facing museums across Cyprus, turning geospatial data into clear, actionable insights toward climate resilience and environmental sustainability.

These initiatives provided the participants with a deeper understanding of Climate-Smart Forestry (CSF) while highlighting practical ways to contribute to sustainable forest management. The activities took place as part of our project EduCyprus-CSF, which aims to raise awareness and share knowledge of CSF in Cyprus.

Detecting and addressing illegal dumping sites early is crucial to preventing , especially when drought conditions heighten the risk. Our recent collaboration with Cyprus' Department of Environment, highlighted in the article below (in Greek), was part of collective efforts to map and clean dumping locations early on time, in order to mitigate wildfire risks during dry seasons and safeguard our communities and ecosystems.
Enabled by our flagship service , a novel solution that uses satellite imagery and our proprietary AI models to detect and analyze illegal dumping sites, this collaboration provided more than 800 illegal dumping sites and a variety of analytics for more informed decision taking and prevention measures.
