This Customer Service Week, our Customer Experience Team proudly joined the official launch of the week part in an inter-company March Past under the theme, 'Go The Extra Mile', a moment that meant far more to us than just a ceremonial march.

With pride in our hearts, energy in our steps, and a renewed sense of purpose, we felt honoured to represent our company, but most importantly, to represent the millions of customers who trust us daily.

Our participation was a public reaffirmation of our commitment to you, the same commitment we live out every day at our service centres.

Our MD spoke at the just ended Capital Markets Conference and Awards in Livingstone, highlighting two priorities critical to Zambia’s digital and financial transformation.

1.From coverage to usage:
Zambia has achieved 92% population network coverage, but a 60% usage gap remains. Smartphone affordability is a key barrier, and closing this gap will require shared investment across telecoms, financial services, business and government.

2.From financial inclusion to financial health:
While financial inclusion has reached 80%, financial health stands at 39%. The focus must now shift from access to enabling more Zambians to manage, save, borrow responsibly and build financial resilience.

Bridging these gaps will require stronger collaboration across government, telecom operators, financial institutions, fintechs, capital markets and the private sector.

At Airtel, we remain committed to playing our part in shaping the next chapter of Zambia’s digital transformation.
