Building the Foundations for AI in Uganda
As part of the recently concluded National ICT Summit in Uganda, LTS Group contributed to discussions on how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can support Uganda’s development ambitions, particularly across the Agriculture, Tourism and Mining sectors.
During the panel discussion, LTS Uganda Country Manager, Mohamed Elwan, joined industry stakeholders to explore Uganda’s readiness for AI adoption, with a focus on the infrastructure, data, skills and resources required to support sustainable implementation.
A key message from the discussion was that AI is a journey, not a race. Successful adoption requires deliberate preparation, particularly around data, infrastructure, skills development and continuous learning.
The discussion also highlighted opportunities for LTS Group to support Uganda’s ICT ecosystem by helping address market gaps, developing local technical capacity and sharing our experience in the planning, ex*****on and management of technology and infrastructure projects.
Through knowledge transfer and training of local resources, LTS remains committed to contributing to the development of sustainable ICT capabilities and supporting Uganda’s digital transformation journey.
