Fibrecom has reinforced its commitment to workforce development and operational safety by enrolling technical staff from its Utility section in a specialised Rigging and Tower Climbing Certification course.

The intensive training equipped technicians with advanced practical skills and guidance for working safely at heights. Participants received hands-on instruction in tower climbing protocols, safety harness inspection, load balancing, and emergency rescue operations.

These technicians manage the installation, alignment, mounting, and repair of critical VHF/UHF radio systems and microwave transmission dishes that support Fibrecom’s network infrastructure.

With their training complete, the certified team returns to the field ready to ensure uninterrupted signal transmission across our countrywide fibre network and keep all our customers connected.

Fibrecom today paid a courtesy visit to the University of Zambia's Directorate of Research and Development, exploring strategic collaboration to advance innovation and develop future-ready talent in Zambia.
Ms. Manyando Matale, Fibrecom's Head of Product Innovation and Business Development, highlighted the need for platforms and programmes that blend academic knowledge with practical workplace skills equipping young innovators to thrive in an evolving job market.
Speaking during the visit, Prof. Erastus Mwanaumo, Director of Research and Development, shared the transformative work currently underway through the UNZA Innovation Village and other initiatives fueling growth in Zambia's science, technology, and innovation ecosystem. Today the Fibrecom and KNBE Power Corporation LTD men and women stepped onto the field for a fun-filled friendly match packed with goals,a bit of skill 😅, laughs, cheers and a little healthy competition!

It was more than just football — it was about teamwork, building relationships and connecting beyond the workplace.

Safe to say… the competition was friendly, but nobody came to just “have fun”! 😂
