What actually makes a laptop "rugged"?

Magnesium Alloy Chassis: Both Panasonic and Getac use strong metal frames instead of flimsy plastic to protect internal parts from twisting and impacts.

MIL-STD Standards: They pass strict U.S. military tests (like MIL-STD-810H) for surviving drops from up to 6 feet, intense vibrations, and freezing or burning weather.

IP Ratings: Ingress Protection (IP) ratings—such as IP66—prove their ports and casing keep out fine dust and high-pressure water jets.
