Christmas in May? After over a year of remote ipad lessons, Linda and I
were able to meet outside at Elim Park. She opened her Christmas presents while I set up her new ipad. They have awesome wi-fi for residents!

Feeling elated! I was able to return to Whitney Center, in Hamden, to provide ipad/iphone lessons to my clients there!

Meet my student Linda. We have been meeting at her assisted living center every Wednesday at 1:30 PM for 3 years. She is an avid reader and when we first met, she had read every book in the library on her unit. She hired me to teach her how to use an iPad so that she could download ebooks from her local library, and amazon.com, remotely. We would download 10 – 15 books per week to her ipad.
Then, COVID happened. Linda was in quarantine. Linda does not have contact with family members, or outside friends, which I understand, and she chooses not to discuss. She had no phone in her room, so Wednesday, March 18th, I took a chance and tried our first Facetime call at 1:30. After a couple of tries, she was able to answer, and screamed when she saw my face on her ipad!
Since then, we’ve been “meeting” every Wednesday, via Facetime, at 1:30, our regular time, to download ebooks by her favorite authors. She researches the authors, lets me know her choices, and I send them remotely to her ipad, from my home computer.
I am deeply honored to help students, like Linda, who need assistance while isolated due to COVID. If you have a relative that needs help, feel free to call me for help (203) 668-3819.

For many of us, Covid-19 = intense and accelerated technology use from home. Today it was helping teachers and students by
-Remotely downloading ebooks to a client's ipad (the client is in quarantine in a local assisted living center)
-Designing distance learning lessons for Adult English Language Learners on the fly and spreading the word on how to access
-Using Facetime with mom so that she can see her grandsons and finally troubleshoot her cable TV issues.
I am ready to leverage technology to do what I do best - help people!
