The Bay Area chapter of our coast-to-coast Agentic AI series is officially done, and Sunnyvale delivered.

We opened the evening with people finding each other first. Then the panel kicked in, and the room shifted into full listening mode. The discussion stayed practical, focused on what it takes to deploy Agentic AI in the wild, not in slides.

A few moments that defined the panel:

💠 Nipun Sarin took the conversation deeper.

He unpacked the tension between prediction and the reality that customer behavior is never deterministic.
A potent retail reminder for anyone building agents.

💠 Mark Cramer nailed a painful truth.

Human-in-the-loop trust checks drain time, money, and momentum.
= The way forward is reducing that burden by strengthening trust, securing systems, and fixing the minor issues that stack up.

💠 Mukesh Jain brought the scale lens.

Customer search signals are driving more intelligent decisions.
GenAI is stepping in to solve issues in real time.
Clear examples of what AI at scale really looks like.

The Q&A kept the energy high, and Ravit Jain's drop-in added an extra spark.

Team 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗱𝗼™
Vinesh, Kavitha, Hasan, Sakshi
were happy to host this Bay Area evening with all of you.

We often rush to build models before we’re ready to trust the data behind them.
Prashanth, Founder of DBP Institute, reframed that conversation for all of us.

His session, “Getting Data Ready for Analytics and GenAI,” broke the myth that readiness is just about cleaning data.

He walked us through the 𝗖𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗨𝗦 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 for data quality
- completeness, accuracy, consistency, timeliness, uniqueness, & stability

And the 𝗙𝗔𝗜𝗥 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 for data usability
- findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable.

Together, they built a picture that was less about theory and more about 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲
- 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁.

Something that quietly stuck with many of us:
“AI can accelerate, but it can’t replace core skills.”

No intelligence is sustainable without solid engineering beneath it.
At Saturam, every reliable insight begins with the foundations we choose to build on.

𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗻’𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁.

That was the reminder from Rameshwar Balanagu, Chief Enterprise Architect, during his session on Security and Observability for Leaders in the Innovation Era.

He got us into the 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵𝘀 of building AI-first enterprises - where security, compliance, and observability must evolve together.

From AI governance and bias management
to Zero Trust security and continuous monitoring,
Rameshwar explained how architecture is
about 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆.

What stood out most was his framing:
“Hype fades. Visibility stays.”
It’s a line that captured the entire mood of the evening: leaders who want to innovate without losing sight of the ground beneath.

Thank you, Rameshwar, for turning this theme into a leadership conversation that mattered.

Seeing, understanding, and improving - that’s how trust grows.
Something we hold close at Saturam.

𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲.

At our recent event, Reimagining Data Engineering for the Agentic AI Era,
Vikash Rungta, Product Lead for Llama at Meta and Instructor at Stanford Continuing Studies, reminded us during his session:

“Tiny Giants: How 𝗦𝗟𝗠𝘀 Power the Next Wave of Intelligent Agents.”

He broke down the real strength of Small Language Models (SLMs):

How they’re redefining efficiency, privacy, and adaptability
in places where large models can’t always go.

From on-device manufacturing assistants
to HIPAA-safe healthcare chatbots
and on-prem enterprise agents,
Vikash showed how “𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹” can mean 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁, 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲.

It was a practical peek into how SLMs can scale intelligence responsibly, without losing control or context.

The room was hooked!

It’s rare to see someone blend deep tech with storytelling that clear.

Thank you, Vikash, for helping us all see that the 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗜 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝘀, 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀.

That’s the mindset we build with at Saturam.

𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗲𝘀.

And Tom McFadyen, CEO of McFadyen Digital, showed us exactly how.

At our recent event, "Reimagining Data Engineering for the Agentic AI Era,"

Tom walked us through what it really means when AI touches every corner of retail

- from catalog enrichment and product image generation, to fraud detection, dynamic pricing, and customer experience personalization.

He called it the “Retail/Commerce Value Stream”

A reminder that AI is hundreds of small wins across market,
Sell, Fulfill, and Support.

What stood out? His line:
“Gen AI is now 20% of A Retail Giant’s referral traffic.”

The shift is already here.

Differentiation and leadership in retail will be built on enterprise-focused AI initiatives. Public LLMs may drive traffic, much like search engines once did, but the true retail experience will be shaped by how enterprises harness AI to create intelligence within.

His books, which map over 300 AI use cases, transform into a playbook that retailers can implement today. Thank you, Tom, for grounding innovation in real-world scale and showing what AI in retail looks like in motion.

The kind of change Saturam is built for.

“𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗪𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗜 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲”

A shift in how we think, build, and trust data systems.

Last Friday at Cascades The Colony, we reimagined what data engineering means in the Agentic AI Era, and it was more than just a discussion.

The evening began with Shane’s opening note - tying together data, AI, and the enterprise’s path to value.

Then came a lineup that turned ideas into real, tangible perspectives:

🔹 Tom M McFadyen, CEO of McFadyen Digital, discussed how AI in Retail is transforming business value and customer connections.

🔹 Pradeepkumar, Founder of QualiZeal, as the Guest of Honor, reflected the spirit of building a high-growth company at Qualizeal, underscoring the strong Data & AI partnership with Saturam in that journey.

🔹 Vikash Rungta, Product Lama Model, Meta, decoded how SLMs are powering the next wave of intelligent agents.

🔹 Rameshwar Balanagu, Chief Enterprise Architect, moved the room with his clarity on security and observability for the innovation era.

🔹 Muralidharan, CEO & Founder, Saturam, laid the data foundations for Agentic AI, connecting the dots from AI use cases to Data Engineering foundations and identified the critical ingredients in technology and architecture to outlast the hype.

🔹 Jeyachitra, VP of Engineering, Qualdo, explored Data Trust in Retail, explaining how reliability becomes the core of AI systems.

🔹 Prashanth, of DBP-Institute, simplified the process of preparing data for Analytics and GenAI.

🔹 Vinesh, VP & GM of Sales at Saturam, tied every idea together in his closing note, leaving us all inspired and reflective.

Hosted effortlessly by Kara, with Kavitha and Hasan behind every perfect detail.

The night ended with dinner, conversations with data & AI experts of the Dallas community, and a feeling that something new is unfolding in data.
