The seller, who asked to remain anonymous due to “ongoing negotiations,” said the latest incident occurred shortly after listing a vintage jacket for $85. Within approximately six minutes, a buyer reportedly offered $25.

“I was willing to negotiate,” the seller said. “But $25? I’m not running a nonprofit.”

The latest offer comes just three days after the seller allegedly received $30 for a $120 pair of jeans, followed by a $40 offer on a $95 sweater. In an unrelated incident last week, a buyer reportedly asked if the seller would accept $12 because they were “a fellow reseller.”

The pattern is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore. One resale industry analyst noted that sellers are now spending an estimated 14% of their waking hours calculating whether they would rather accept a lowball offer or simply leave the item sitting in their closet for another nine months.
