Tuneshine Your space, your music | Digital album artwork display for streaming services

10/07/2026

Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, and more all have hi-res pictures of every song’s album art, but none of them let you actually look at the image in detail. What took so long? I gotta give Spotify props for this one.

When is lossless audio not actually lossless? When it’s been resampled!

If you want to listen to your digital audio on the very best speakers with no compromises, you’re going to want a bit-perfect audio player. I tried out two recently that can both get you there—and I’d highly recommend either one for anyone who wants the absolute best listening experience on the Mac.

VeraVox and Fidelia (Audiofile Engineering ) both avoid resampling your audio by allowing you to take exclusive control over your audio outputs. And thanks to the Tuneshine API, they both support Tuneshine. So if you have exceptionally high standards for audio quality, but you still want to use your Tuneshine, don’t worry—you’re covered.

WiiM Ultra + Tuneshine Album Art Display

07/23/2026

Is it pronounced WiiM or WiiM?

Whatever it is, Tuneshine now supports these affordable and arguably audiophile-friendly speakers and streamers that have gained significant popularity in the last few years.

Connect up to 16 WiiM devices to your Tuneshine and get updates instantly over your local network—no cloud required.

To celebrate, you can get $40 off for the next week with code WIIM40.

Having an album art display in your house just makes listening to music that much more fun.

The lo-fi screen is perfect for the living room- bright, vivid, and not too distracting. And it’s always ready so when you put on music it just lights right up.

Tru Narla and I had the same idea! I always encourage people to make a DIY version of Tuneshine if they’re in to that and Tru is providing the blueprint if you want to go that route.

I got inspired by her spinning CD effect so I decided to put in some work and release it for all of you (with credit in the app). It’s the first of a new “effects” option for the Tuneshine. What other effects would you like to see?

Thanks for the inspo Tru- let me know if you want tips on integrating with more services!

I’m continuously adding new features to the Tuneshine to make it the best way to bring the album art for the music you love in to your space. This month I’ve got a few new ones:

🖼️ Miss seeing your album art when the music goes off? You can now keep your last played album on the display after you stop the music

📱 Using Spotify on multiple devices? Control which devices (phones, computers, speakers) show on your Tuneshine and which do not

🏠 Got a lot of Sonos speakers? You can now add up to 5 Sonos speakers to your Tuneshine without a subscription thanks to a server optimization

Plus—I added a bug fix for Roon support that makes the experience much better when grouping and ungrouping speakers.

What new features do you want to see next?

GLANCE LED , TheFlightWall , TRMNL —these are all very complex products with their own challenges, but I wanted to point out a unique challenge for the Tuneshine that none of the other ones do—getting real time updates from something that the user controls directly.

Making this work at scale is its own particular challenge, but with some optimizations I’ve been able to make it work in a sustainable way.
