Don't regulate cannabis simply because you can — identify the actual harm, demonstrate that the proposed regulation reduces it, and make sure the economic burden imposed on legitimate operators is justified by the evidence.

I’ve been writing about the overregulation and over taxation of the cannabis industry. Regulations are supposed to be used to mitigate actual or potential harm.
