Hey everyone,

I just wanted to express that I’ve know Nelson for almost 14 years. He was not my blood brother, but was still MY BROTHER.

I want to clarify some rumors going around on social media. Nelson was 33 years old. He did NOT have a wife. He was not married. He had NO KIDS.

Nelson was my brother and best friend and nobody knew him better than me.

PLEASE let’s remember Nelson with his BIG SMILE AND KIND SPIRIT. Please respect us at this time and just help us keep his light shining bright by staying positive, smiling and laughing.

Thank you ALL for the kind messages and thoughtfulness towards myself and other Galleria family that are still grieving during this difficult time.

🖤 IN LOVING MEMORY OF NELSON TELLEZ🖤
March 12, 1993 – October 10, 2026

With heavy hearts, we take a moment today to remember Nelson Tellez, a beloved member of our Galleria family. It still doesn’t feel real that someone who was such a familiar, comforting part of our days is gone.

From our earliest days of hauling everything in and out of the mall and setting up in center court, Nelson was right there beside us, ready to help with whatever we needed—with a smile, a good joke, and a laugh.

When we opened our storefront, his morning check-ins became part of our routine. He became so much more than someone we saw at the mall. He became family.

We know we’ll still look for him when we open our doors, expecting that familiar greeting and smile. His absence will be felt in the little moments that meant more than we ever realized.

Nelson, you brought so much light and life to those around you. Thank you for your kindness, your laughter, and for making us feel at home from the very beginning. We will miss you terribly. 🖤

Our deepest condolences go out to Nelson’s family, closest friends, and everyone who loved him. We’re grieving alongside our Galleria Johnstown family and holding you all in our hearts.

It is with profound sadness and shock that we at J&J Thrifty Collectibles even have to post this.

Our mall community lost a truly wonderful soul yesterday. Nelson was a part of keeping our mall running smoothly, but more than that Nelson was a friendly, familiar face we looked forward to seeing everyday. If you frequent our store or the mall, you likely saw Nelson working hard to keep everything in tip top shape.

Running a small business is a lot easier when you have people like Nelson looking out for you and for Leo. Their hard work, kindness, and dedicated spirit held this place together.

We are incredibly grateful for everything Nelson did for our store and our neighbors and this mall. Our deepest condolences go out to his family, friends, Leo, and everyone in the mall Community who is feeling this loss today. Rest In Peace Nelson you will truly be missed.
