With the release of our new trade school platform we are getting lots of press. We aren't a job board or recruiting platform, we are an eco-system for the trades!

Here's a great example of why companies need insurance and why clients need to be listed as additionally insured.

House painter sues Bill Belichick over fall
The man hired to paint for Bill Belichick is now suing after suffering a fall at the coach’s Nantucket Island home.

Andrew Jackson claims he fell and got injured while working at Belichick’s property in June 2024, according to the complaint filed last week against Belichick’s production company, Forty Five Fair Street LLC.

Jackson asserts he was working on Belichick’s property, located at 45 Fair Street, when he slipped and fell. The lawsuit claims the site had unsafe conditions due to “the placement, use, and/or maintenance of plastic sheeting or coverings and other unsafe conditions in the work area.”

Jackson says he suffered injuries that included a “severe right ankle injury, together with pain, disability, medical expenses, lost wages, and other consequential damages.” The total compensation sought in damages exceeds $285,000.

Jackson’s lawyer told the Nantucket Current that he received workers’ comp through his employer/subcontractor’s insurer, but retained his rights to sue Belichick as an individual for negligence.

The property at 45 Fair Street is a four bedroom, four-and-a-half bath, 2,854-square foot house, according to this write-up on Boston.com.

There aren’t yet enough details to really judge the merits of the case, but we’ll be interested to hear your thoughts in the comments about what we know so far.

Houston… we have a problem.

We keep telling people about the trades—
Great careers.
Great money.
No college debt.
Opportunity everywhere.

All true.

But we’re missing something… and it’s a big one.

This message comes from a place of respect—
Not as a tech founder, but as a 4th-generation contractor who’s been on job sites since I was 14 and still runs a construction company today.

**Construction is about production.**
Square feet installed and finished.
Doors hung.
Feet of conduit run.

It’s a game of output.
It’s a game of urgency.
And yes… it’s often a low-bid, high-performance environment.

Every day, I work with people entering the trades—getting them set up, helping them get started.

And I keep seeing the same thing:

We ask for 10 things.
They do 7… and say they’ll get to the rest “this weekend.”

It’s Wednesday….

That answer doesn’t work on a job site.
And when a superintendent hears it, it’s not going to be a teaching moment—it’s going to be a reality check.

We need thousands of people to enter the trades.
But if only 1 out of 10 can keep up with the pace… we don’t have a recruiting problem.

We have a **readiness problem.**

Teachers. Parents. Mentors—
Please keep pushing the trades.

But tell them the whole story.

**Tell them about the hustle.**
