Another successful day at the Nissan Innovation Manufacturing Event in Tennessee.

We had the opportunity to meet Nissan purchasing managers, industrial engineers, controls engineers, skilled trades personnel, floor operators and training students. It was a great event filled with valuable discussions, networking and learning opportunities.

Overall, a productive day and a great way to wrap up the event! Big thanks to everyone that took the time to stop, say hi and see what solutions we had to offer!

Your best operator should not be the only person who knows the best way to build the product.

Experienced operators often develop better sequences and quicker methods that remove wasted movements.

The problem is when that knowledge stays with one person. The rest of the team is still expected to match the same output without the same method.

Production data is only useful if it tells you what actually happened and is recorded.

ODIN Workstation can collect data from the process as the part is being built. This includes tool data, operational data and timing information.

That gives engineers and managers something more useful than a final pass or fail. They can investigate rework, see where time is being lost and identify opportunities to improve the process.

Paper instructions are easy to create. Keeping every copy current at the station is the difficult part.

One process change can leave older versions on the line while operators are still expected to hit the target and know which page is correct.

Training does not have to mean memorising a long production sequence before someone can contribute.

With ODIN Workstation the operator can see what needs to happen next directly at the station. If the process stops or a step needs attention, the system can guide them through the next action.
