“The billions of VC dollars invested in autonomous factories this year aren't chasing machines or buildings. It's a bet on the technology that drives the manufacturing process.”

At our recent "Building AI for the Physical World" event during LA TECH WEEK by a16z, Harmoni Co-Founder David Caputo shared his perspective on where manufacturing is headed and why the future isn't just about building new factories. It's about transforming how they operate.

With 284,000 factories across the country, manufacturers shouldn't have to build from scratch or be left behind to access the technology shaping the next era of manufacturing.

“They want access to the same technology, and that's what we give them at Harmoni.”

Thank you Bessemer Venture Partners, Hadrian, J.P. Morgan, Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, SendCutSend, and Amca for bringing together such an important conversation about the future of American manufacturing.

⭐ Employee Spotlight: Patrick Gough, Field Technician at Harmoni!

With more than a decade of hands-on manufacturing experience, Patrick knows the shop floor from the ground up. Before joining Harmoni, he worked as an operator and setup technician, including several years with CNC machines. Today, he brings that firsthand experience to helping manufacturers get better visibility into their operations.

One thing Patrick believes manufacturers can underestimate? The impact of burnout on an already stretched workforce.

With skilled labor in short supply, manufacturers need to make the most of the people they have. Patrick sees real-time data and better visibility as valuable tools for identifying inefficiencies, improving scheduling, and streamlining processes so teams can work smarter.

When he’s not working with customers, you can probably catch Patrick watching Formula 1 and cheering on Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen.

🏎️ His favorite chant? “Du du du du, Max Verstappen!”

But his favorite role of all is being dad to his two daughters. ❤️

We’re lucky to have you, Patrick! Thanks for everything you do for our customers and the team. 👏

What happens when an aerospace parts shop replaces napkin sketches, flash drives, and manual reporting with a connected factory?

For Rimeco, a family-owned CNC machine shop specializing in aircraft and engine components, it meant more accurate part counts, hours of labor saved, and a more connected operation.

In this feature from https://hubs.la/Q04B2Z9D0, learn more about how Rimeco brought its ERP, quality, maintenance, and shop-floor workflows together with Harmoni’s Factory Orchestration Platform.

Manufacturing is moving beyond connected machines. The next step is a factory that can actually act on what’s happening in real time.

That’s what we’re heading to the 2026 FABTECH Expo to talk about.

Join Harmoni Co-Founder David Caputo on Wednesday, October 21, from 9:00–10:30 AM in Room N221–222 for a closer look at what it takes as the industry moves toward autonomous manufacturing.

Then stop by Booth to meet the team: Jake D., Krystin, and Will. We’d love to connect, talk shop, and show you how brings people, machines, and processes into sync.

Your factory could be losing 1,250 hours a year to 15-minute delays.

Waiting for approvals. Searching for programs. Walking to shared terminals. Manually entering data.

These small interruptions add up fast, costing manufacturers productive capacity without anyone noticing.

The good news? You may not need another machine to increase output. You may need to get more out of the equipment and people you already have.

Last week's blog breaks down the hidden cost of everyday delays and how helps manufacturers get those minutes back.

American manufacturing is entering a new era.

And it’s not just about autonomous factories or robots taking over jobs. It’s about making the 284,000 factories we already have more competitive.

Here’s the vision behind Harmoni, featuring remarks from David Caputo at the 2026 IMTS press conference.

Welcome to the reindustrial revolution.

shouldn’t replace manufacturing expertise. It should amplify it.

Harmoni's AI Lieutenant gives manufacturers a faster, simpler way to understand what’s happening across their operation. It turns thousands of data points into clear answers, uncovers opportunities for improvement, helps predict what’s coming next, and automates routine work.

HAL isn’t just another AI chatbot.

It’s purpose-built for manufacturing. HAL understands your factory, learns from your data, and helps your team make better decisions every day.

Your expertise stays at the center. HAL helps you put it to work.

Tomorrow, we’re talking about AI where it gets real: the factory floor.

AI has transformed software. But the physical world comes with a very different set of challenges: decades-old machines, fragmented data, complex workflows, and knowledge that doesn’t always exist in a database.

So what does it actually take to put AI into live production?

That’s the conversation we’re having tomorrow at Building AI for the Physical World during LA Tech Week.

Harmoni Co-Founder David Caputo will join leaders from Hadrian, SendCutSend, Amca, and J.P. Morgan to talk about what’s working, what isn’t, and where physical-world AI goes next.

🎟️ RSVP Here: https://hubs.la/Q04zlG8-0

Proud to co-host this conversation with Hadrian, Bessemer Venture Partners, J.P. Morgan, and Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP.

In this clip, Harmoni co-founder David Caputo and sales lead Will Powers break down how Harmoni's AI Lieutenant can help manufacturers get ahead of problems, from identifying jobs with a higher likelihood of scrap before production starts to flagging issues as they emerge.

But prediction is only part of the story.

HAL can also automate the work you ask it to handle. Prompt it to send recurring reports, flag when a machine falls behind schedule, or notify the right team when recurring issues appear.

Every factory runs differently. HAL learns your operation and continuously watches what’s happening, so your team doesn’t have to live in dashboards just to know when something needs attention.

Less reacting. More knowing what’s coming. Orchestrate everything.
