Following another huge Eurovision Song Contest production, congratulations to Tim Routledge and the entire lighting team on delivering an incredible show once again for Eurovision’s 70th anniversary year.
Watched by over 140 million globally, Eurovision is recognised as the most demanding live television production in the world, where every cue, camera shot and lighting moment has to land perfectly in real time. Not to mention the 6-month lead-up and the extensive, multi-cultural collaborations involved.
Alongside Tim, the production was delivered by a hugely talented team including associate lighting designers Morgan Evans and James Scott; moving light programmers Alex Mildenhall and Martin Higgins; key light programmer Marc Nicholson; overnight programmers Olly Martin and Manfred Nikitzer; follow spot caller Louisa Smurthwaite; playback video producer Sam Lisher and team; alongside gaffer and crew chief Keith Duncan.
In this latest video, Tim talks through some of the ROBE lighting luminaires used across the production, including GigaPointe, WTF! and iForte LTX, and why it is so important to light artists beautifully both in the room and on camera, with accurate, dependable key light remaining a vital part of modern broadcast lighting.
A brilliant achievement from everyone involved, and one we were proud to support through Robe’s role as Official Technical Supplier of ORF for Eurovision 2026 in Vienna.
