www.louise-hill-design.com My love of design and creativity comes from growing up in a family full of designers! I like to create very detailed,colourful images.

I am blessed to have been surrounded by beautiful textiles and creative conceptual artwork all my life. After graduating from art school in London, I specialised in high end packaging design for over 15 years working for clients such as Crabtree & Evelyn, Fortnum & Mason’s and Marks & Spencers. I developed a love for colour, typography, illustration and detailed artwork which I have now put to use with my new canvas design venture. After freelancing and guest lecturing in Melbourne at RMIT, we moved with our young twins to vibrant Shanghai for 5 years and now HK where I continue to be inspired by the wonderful energy and colour around me that Asia has to offer both at home and on my travels. I create my work using a mixture of my own photography, patterns,
vintage imagery, textiles I have collected and typography.

‘Sunrise Songbirds’ is a riot of beautiful red and pink tones mixed with little birds and butterflies from the Hong Kong bird & flower market alongside lanterns bought in Singapore.
Chinese Peonies sit alongside vibrant Bougainvillea and Oriental Orchids.

This beautiful Chinese biscuit tin is one of my favourites! Depicting Guan Yin or Chang’e the Chinese Moon Goddess’, she represents compassion, healing and spiritual illumination. Here she is holding a white rabbit who represents selfless sacrifice and longevity.

The combination of the moon halo and flowing robes symbolise the message that true strength lies in gentle compassion, that life’s hardships are temporary reflections, and that a spirit of pure, selfless love (represented by the rabbit) holds the ultimate power to heal and illuminate the darkness.

‘Chinoiserie in Teal & Peacock Blue’

A stunning mix of layered photographs of textile, architectural and various objects I have collected over many years of living in China, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Once printed, I add an extra layer of hand painted highlights in metallic inks that catch the light.

A well overdue catchup at P**n's London 🥰

Thankyou Amy P**n Mackenzie for sharing your love through your wonderful food with me today, it was such a precious moment to see you at work in your new world, one that you have built with passion and a hell of a lot of hard graft, it certainly shows!

I felt proud seeing my work on the walls and my logo everywhere. The attention to detail with your beautiful porcelain tableware with the replica of your Dads very first logo, the lovely chopsticks, ‘Good Morning’ napkins and of course the products, it looks great.

Love seeing those familiar photos of your family on the walls, telling your family story and that lovely photo of Bill keeping an eye on you.

I left feeling like my refreshingly cold cup of delicious iced tea was full and I had gotten my dose of P**ns for now.

I also left with your Dad Bill’s wind dried sausages and bacon ready to pass on the culinary love to my family!

I honestly felt so incredibly grateful today 🤍

This lovely patient travelled all the way from Sri Lanka to see me for treatment after hearing about my work in Singapore.

Her friend had recommended me after seeing a post from lorna about my work, and that recommendation somehow travelled all the way back to me here in the UK.

I never take that kind of trust for granted.

To know that someone has heard about my work from the other side of the world and then chosen to travel to see me is such a privilege.

I’m so grateful to every patient who recommends me, every person who shares my work, and every patient who trusts me with something as precious as their eyes. ❤️

Moments like this really do mean a lot 🥹
