MSB Palisade DAC – Malaysia Private Listening Session

A sincere thank you to Mr. Lim for warmly opening his beautiful home and hosting our second MSB Malaysia Listening Session.

It was a fantastic afternoon with Jonathan Gullman, CEO of MSB Technology, and a wonderful group of passionate audiophiles. Beyond simply listening to music, everyone had the opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss digital audio design, and ask Jonathan technical questions directly.

The highlight of the day was experiencing the new MSB Palisade DAC, officially launched this July. Hearing it in a carefully curated home system allowed us to appreciate its extraordinary transparency, musical realism, effortless dynamics, and natural presentation.

Of course, no audiophile gathering is complete without great food, coffee, laughter, and conversations that continued long after the music stopped. These moments are what make our hobby so enjoyable and our community so special.

A heartfelt thank you again to Mr. Lim for his generous hospitality, to Jonathan for sharing the latest innovations from MSB, and to everyone who joined us. We look forward to welcoming even more music lovers to our future listening sessions.

Music brings us together. Friendship keeps us listening.

--- VOLUME LEVELLING ---

The versatility of music streaming allows seamless mixing of local files and multiple streaming services, but it can introduce frustrating shifts in playback volume.

With Firmware 23, LUMIN extracts the native ReplayGain and loudness metadata from your files, TIDAL, Qobuz, Amazon Music, or Plex streams. It then automatically applies a precise, hardware-level gain offset that preserves the complete integrity of your music.

--- HOW IT WORKS ---

Off by default: Enable via Settings > LUMIN Settings > Volume Levelling.
Target profiles: Choose between Normal (-14 LUFS) or Quiet (-19 LUFS) (Loudness Units Full Scale).

LUMIN reads the native ReplayGain metadata embedded within TIDAL, Qobuz, Amazon Music, Plex, or local files containing ReplayGain tags. It uses this information to automatically and losslessly adjust the LUMIN volume on a per-track basis.

Models with a built-in DAC: This volume adjustment is done losslessly before the DAC/preamp stage.

Models without a DAC (Transports): LUMIN applies proprietary Leedh Processing Volume algorithms for bit-perfect digital output to your external DAC.

--- COMPATIBLE PLAYBACK METHODS ---

LUMIN Volume Levelling applies to:

- LUMIN App playback of local files (with embedded ReplayGain tags)
- LUMIN App playback of TIDAL
- LUMIN App playback of Qobuz
- LUMIN App playback of Amazon Music
- Plex playback directed to LUMIN hardware*

Note: Volume Levelling does not apply to third-party streaming apps, such as TIDAL Connect or Qobuz Connect.

*Plex users must enable "Analyze Audio Tracks for Loudness" within their Plex Server Library settings.
