The G2M (Goma‑to‑Mombasa) fiber highway is a 2,000 km protected route that links Mombasa to Goma via Kigali, Kampala and Nairobi, interconnecting key data centers in each city. Working with ROKE Telkom and MoveOn Telecoms, Paratus is fully licensed in all East African countries; the new route creates an integrated regional network that links inland markets directly to global subsea capacity. Businesses benefit from faster access to international networks, improved reliability and lower latency, a vital foundation for East Africa’s rapidly growing digital economy.

Our East‑West route delivers a coast‑to‑coast terrestrial backbone linking Maputo to Swakopmund via Johannesburg, Botswana and Namibia. By connecting into the Equiano cable landing station, it offers a robust alternative to subsea systems and ensures low‑latency, high‑capacity connectivity for operators across the region. Designed with redundancy in every kilometer, the route keeps Southern Africa connected even when undersea cables fail.

Reliable connectivity across Africa is not created by one route, one technology or one team.

It is built through the combination of terrestrial fiber routes, subsea cable access, satellite capabilities, teleports, data centres, local operations and support teams working across multiple markets.

For businesses operating across the region, that combination matters. It helps create the reach, resilience and continuity needed to keep people, platforms and operations connected.

Across the Paratus footprint, our role is to bring these moving parts together so customers can operate with greater confidence across borders.

Paratus Express Route provides the fastest path between Johannesburg and Europe. By constructing a 1 890 km fiber route from the Equiano Cable Landing Station in Swakopmund, traversing Botswana, to a Tier‑III data center in Johannesburg and tying directly into the Equiano subsea cable, Paratus delivers a direct link to Lisbon and London. Powered by state‑of‑the‑art Infinera technology, the route supports wavelengths up to 800 Gbps and offers latency as low as 123 ms (JHB to Lisbon). Operators and enterprises gain a resilient alternative to legacy West Coast cables, unlocking new possibilities for real‑time applications and high‑capacity services.

Happy Africa Day.

Today, we celebrate a continent shaped by many cultures, many markets and many ways of moving forward.

Across Africa, progress is built through connection: between people, businesses, communities and countries. It is strengthened by the teams on the ground, the infrastructure behind the scenes and the partnerships that help opportunity travel further.

At Paratus, we are proud to play our part in supporting the connections that keep Africa growing.

Here’s to the people, places and possibilities that make this continent extraordinary.

Across Africa, connectivity is built through more than one route, one market or one technology.

It is built through people on the ground, infrastructure across borders and the ability to bring different parts of the continent into one connected network.

Paratus operates across 16 African countries, combining terrestrial fiber routes, subsea cable access, satellite capabilities, teleports, data centers and local teams to support businesses, communities and partners across the region.

This Africa Day, we recognise the people, places and infrastructure that help keep Africa connected.
