Ctrl + Alt + Delete was originally created as a developer shortcut, not as the familiar Windows command we know today.

In the early days of the IBM PC, developers needed a quick way to restart the computer during testing. IBM engineer David Bradley created the Ctrl + Alt + Delete key combination for this purpose.

The shortcut was intentionally designed to be difficult to press accidentally, and Bradley reportedly created it in just a few minutes.

Microsoft later adopted the combination as part of the Windows logon process, turning an internal IBM development shortcut into a familiar action for millions of PC users.

The shortcut became so iconic that David Bradley later joked:

“I may have invented it, but Bill Gates made it famous.”

From a quick solution for developers to one of the most recognizable keyboard shortcuts in computing history.

Google Cloud API Gateway Turns REST APIs into AI Agent Tools

Google has introduced a new capability in Google Cloud API Gateway that allows developers to expose existing REST APIs as Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools without building custom middleware.

By adding MCP annotations to an existing OpenAPI specification, developers can make APIs discoverable and usable by AI agents while continuing to use existing authentication, quotas, and logging.

This helps teams turn existing REST APIs into AI-ready tools while reducing development complexity and making it easier to connect existing systems with modern AI agents and agentic applications.
