⚡ CoP11 approved: waEV-charge

Our chargers have achieved Code of Practice 11 (CoP11) approval under the UK Balancing and Settlement Code, accredited by Elexon and independently tested by BSI Assurance UK and ETS Electromagnetic Testing Services Ltd

Why does it matter?
CoP11 means the metering in every waEV-charge charger is accurate enough to be trusted for settlement. As a result, our chargers can take part in energy flexibility services without a half-hourly settled meter. That removes a major barrier for UK homes and helps balance the grid by moving charging to the times the grid can best handle it.

What it means for drivers: waEV-smart
With the waEV-smart app, drivers keep smart charging switched on and get paid for the flexibility their charger provides. They charge at the right times, save money and earn back.

What it means for installers:
Our waEV-smart Installer Rewards scheme pays installers £50 for every qualifying waEV charger they install and connect, from the very first install. No tiers, no targets.

There's a lot of technology involved in home EV charging.

But sometimes you just need a person who can give you a straight answer.

Meet Joe, Founder and CEO at waEV.

One minute he is looking at product development or the software platforms, the next he is with the sales team, reviewing customer feedback or working out where the business goes next. There is no typical day.

What he enjoys most about EV charging is the pace of change, and building technology that makes charging simpler, smarter and more rewarding. That is a big part of waEV-smart, using software to optimise charging and actually paying customers for charging intelligently.

One thing he wishes more EV drivers knew: you really do not need to overthink it. Plug in when you get home, let the charger schedule overnight, and wake up with the energy you need.

And the most common misconception? That you need the fastest possible charger. At home, most cars are parked for hours overnight, so a 7kW charger is more than enough for most people. Smart charging and when you charge usually matter more than chasing the biggest number.
