Next week, Moldova’s network operator community comes together for the first Moldova Network Operators Group (MDNOG), taking place on 8–9 October at Digital Park in Chișinău.

MDNOG is a community for the people who design, build and run Moldova’s networks, bringing together ISPs, telecom carriers, hosting and data centre operators, IXPs, enterprise network teams and engineers.

RETN wins Best ISP Polish International Provider award at the 2026 iNET Meeting, recognising its contribution to Poland’s telecommunications market and role in connecting Polish operators, ISPs, content and digital companies, to markets across Europe and Asia.

RETN provides connectivity services within Poland with access to its 142,000-kilometre international network, giving customers a single reliable backbone through which to reach international markets. The company has continued to invest in this network, strengthening routes between Poland and neighbouring markets while increasing diversity and capacity across the wider backbone.

A great evening in Amsterdam, at our Back from Summer🍸Event.

Last week, we brought together members of Amsterdam’s telecom, ISP and internet community for an informal evening of drinks, conversations and networking at Vooges aan ’t IJ.

No presentations. No agenda. Just good conversations, familiar faces and plenty of new connections.

RETN strengthens Taiwan network resilience with sixth subsea route

The new Taipei–Hong Kong route increases the number of independent international paths serving Taiwan to six, giving customers greater route diversity and flexibility when individual cables or corridors are disrupted.

RETN now operates four physically diverse subsea routes between Taipei and Hong Kong and two between Taipei and Tokyo, with routes designed to use different landing points, terrestrial corridors, data centres and equipment vendors.

“Recent cable disruptions have reinforced our view that network operators should plan for at least four independent routes per major geography, and preferably five or more, including terrestrial alternatives,” said Oswald Huang, Managing Director of RETN for Taiwan. “These investments give customers more connectivity options and greater route diversity, while reinforcing our long-term commitment to Taiwan and the wider Asia-Pacific market.”

At BalticNOG 2026, Technical Product Manager Andrejs Tihanovs will draw on 12 months of DDoS data observed across RETN’s network to examine how the threat is evolving.

For network operators, ISPs and telcos, looking at attack size alone can give a misleading picture of risk. A 24.9 Tbps attack observed in November 2025 was almost nine times larger than any other monthly peak in the dataset. But peak bandwidth alone doesn’t tell the full story.

Andrejs will explore how smaller, distributed and targeted attacks - including carpet-bombing and precision attacks - can create significant disruption without generating record-breaking traffic volumes.

RETN provides Netdirekt with 100 Gbps IP Transit service in Istanbul, with burstable capacity, strengthening its international connectivity while restoring a multi-provider network architecture and enabling Netdirekt to distribute traffic across multiple connectivity providers.

Netdirekt needed to strengthen the international connectivity supporting its Istanbul infrastructure, with a provider capable of delivering the redundancy and load-balancing capabilities required.
