Directors have moved faster on AI than the boards they sit on.

The latest data from our Board AI Readiness Radar shows 11% of boards meeting the threshold for readiness, with the average organisation scoring 10.3 out of 30. The lowest scores sat in infrastructure and information.

We built the AI Readiness Radar with Paradigm Junction a year ago. On 17 November, Megan Pantelides, Director of Research at Board Intelligence, will set out what twelve months of submissions say about how far directors have come, joined by a serving board member on what it looks like in their own boardroom.

"It's really elevated the opinion of the team and the reputation within the business," Hart said.

Vicky Hart, Group Company Secretary, led a team of eight running corporate governance for a global group with 200 entities across 42 jurisdictions.

Cutting administrative work freed the team to focus on shaping papers instead of just processing them. Where they once checked papers for completeness, they moved to advising authors directly, flagging which points the board wanted to see and where an argument needed to be made more strongly.

Hart said colleagues across the business now see the team's work differently, and trust the governance function more as a result.

Introducing IQ Entities. Board Intelligence's first AI-native entity management system.

Governance teams have been managing entity data by hand, rebuilding structure charts, chasing filings, and entering information pulled from documents one record at a time.

IQ Entities is powered by two kinds of AI working together. Intelligent Insight answers any question about your entities, with a clear answer sourced straight from your own records. Agentic Action automates your administrative work, so you approve it rather than labour through it, always with human review.

Structure charts map your whole group automatically, no more rebuilding by hand. Companies House stays in sync both ways.

Whether your group runs to a handful of entities or several hundred across jurisdictions, governance teams get their time back to review the work, not do it by hand.

Meet IQ Entities: the entity management system built for the AI age.

Entity management shouldn't just mean storing information, it should mean acting on it. IQ Entities brings Agentic Action and Intelligent Insight to governance, so you approve the work rather than wade through it.

Board packs have grown to 220 pages on average, up 27% since 2019, according to our latest Board Value Index research.

It sits inside a wider information quality problem the research uncovered: 68% of board packs are rated weak or poor, and information quality was named the number one barrier to effective decision-making by UK directors.

Boards take the largest decisions about the things that matter most, not just to their organisations, but to the economy and society. Governance professionals need a room where they can talk through geopolitics, cyber security, growth and innovation together, and there are very few places where that community can convene to share ideas.

That's why we're launching the Governance Summit, bringing together The Rt. Hon. Rory Stewart, Sir Jan du Plessis, James Kanagasooriam, Kim Crawford Goodman, and Nicola Putland for a day built around exactly those conversations.

We'll be sharing more on the summit in the coming weeks.

"If you could wave a magic wand, what would the perfect entity management solution look like?"

That's the question Pippa Begg put to Board Intelligence's governance community when we set out to build IQ Entities.

Twenty years of conversations with boards and governance teams surfaced the same problem. Company secretaries were losing too much time to entity management, working with technology built for the 1980s.

IQ Entities is the product of those conversations. Built around how governance teams work, not a faster version of the same old process.

Pippa Begg, Emma Priestley and Kate Wilkinson represented Board Intelligence at the K1 Women's Executive Forum last week in New York.

K1 Managing Partner Hasan Askari opened the day and our CEO Pippa delivered the keynote on what it takes to succeed in the boardroom, making the case for focus, critical thinking and great communication.

The sessions that followed brought together women leading across technology, finance, sport and space. Moira Forbes spoke with Claire Williams, former Team Principal at Williams F1 Racing, and Monica Sklover of K1 spoke with Holly Ridings, the first female Chief Flight Director of NASA.

K1 also honoured two leaders during the day. May Habib, CEO and Co-Founder of Writer, received the Founder's Leadership Award and Maria Black, CEO and President of ADP, received the Category Leadership Award.

Closing the day, Christina Wing of Harvard Business School ran a workshop on the taboo topics leaders avoid, drawn from her forthcoming book Unspeakable.

Thank you to Leah Mosteller, Anne Gill, Megan Eisele, Tracy Strauss and Hasan Askari for bringing the day together.

As a female-founded business with a majority-female executive team, we champion brilliant women in the workplace.
