Fortis Vision is ditching paper safety records for good. The fast-growing UK refurbishment contractor has partnered with us to run site safety digitally across its projects 🇬🇧

Their records were organised, but in hard copy and lived on site. As Construction Director Ricky Simmonds put it: "Checking something meant contacting the site rather than looking it up."

Since May, we've worked with Fortis Vision to digitise inductions, RAMS, toolbox talks and permits, with records automatically synced into Procore. Instead of chasing paperwork, they now access records from their five sites in real-time.

"We wanted one central place for site safety documentation and a consistent way of running every site. Breadcrumb gave us that, and the support we've had meant it integrated into our wider digital infrastructure rather than sitting alongside it as another system to manage," Ricky said.

Fortis Vision is now rolling Breadcrumb out across their remaining projects nationwide, working towards one paperless standard across every site.

This summer, General Superintendent Stuart Olinger upgraded their safety program in the field with Breadcrumb. Check-ins, orientations, pre-task analysis, and permits are now captured on site, synced to Procore, and visible in real time on every project.

What this means in practice:

Q2 numbers just came in for Brinkmann Constructors 🇺🇸

65 active sites. 7,000 workers. 94,000 check-ins. 9,000 orientations. 14,600 pre-task plans. 2,500 permits in a single quarter.

And from Q1 to Q2, orientations, permits, and forms nearly doubled.

Safety information that gets lost in translation isn't really safety information.

For Companies, being able to get the right information into the hands of multilingual crews across multiple states was crucial.

Here’s how they do it: ↓

When a worker first scans the QR code on-site (pictured), Breadcrumb automatically detects their phone's browser language. A Spanish-speaking worker is directed in Spanish through their entire orientation across profile setup, safety videos, site-specific PPE requirements - all of it.

In the words of Flint Thomas, Site Safety & Health Officer at Tepa:
“Breadcrumb makes it much easier to make sure everyone is getting the same information and understanding what is expected of them. It takes a lot of the guesswork out of communicating with a multilingual workforce and helps us keep our safety message consistent across every project.”

Since rolling out Breadcrumb, Tepa has cut orientation time by 50% and made it their company standard across all new projects. 🦺

Since March, more than half of Howard Shockey & Sons, Inc.'s workforce completed their safety orientation in Spanish. That’s 849 out of 1,539 digital orientations, across 19 active jobsites in Virginia, USA. 🇺🇸

That is an incredible achievement, and proof of how determined Justin, Shockey’s Safety Manager, and his team have been throughout this implementation process making sure all 94 subcontractors companies could complete onboarding in their own language!

In his words:
“Breadcrumb has become an integral part of our field tracking and compliance system. It creates the link between Procore project data and subcontractor field tracking.”

Renee Van D**e, our Customer Success Manager, stopped by the jobsite in Virginia and saw firsthand what having 94 active subcontractors companies across 19 projects and 1,500+ orientations looks like on the ground.

GCs on Autodesk Forma can now capture trade partner safety documentation before they arrive and while they're in the field, extending Autodesk's powerful connected workflows with sharper jobsite visibility.

Breadcrumb's new Forma Build integration means site-specific safety plans, JHAs, orientations, PTPs and permits flow straight into Autodesk Forma, and real-time manpower counts push directly into Forma Build forms. No manual entry or duplicate work.

Cleveland Construction, Inc. has adopted Breadcrumb to engage the workforce on-site. As Elliot Christiansen, Sr. VP of Construction, put it:

"Our ability to have real-time manpower counts uploaded directly into our daily job reports without our guys having to go find them is pretty powerful."
