An honest timeline beats an impressive one every time.

It's easy to promise the shorter deadline. It's harder to say "this actually takes longer if you want it done right" —and mean it even when it's not what the client wants to hear.

We'd rather lose the easy yes than lose the trust.

The order says 500 units by Friday. Nobody's totally sure if that's possible.

Do we have the raw materials? Is the line free? What's still sitting half-finished from last week's order? Usually that answer lives in someone's head, a notebook, and a spreadsheet that disagrees with both.
