Conversation without wondering if the other person will understand us. Expressing our needs right here, right now, without and without witnesses. For most of us, this is an everyday reality we don't even think about.
But for deaf people? It is a luxury that too often requires the presence of an interpreter, sacrificing privacy, and dealing with immense stress.
That is why at VinSpeak, we took it a step further.
The first module of our system allowed deaf people to understand us passively. That was an important step, but communication is not a one-way street. True begins when you can actively express yourself and be absolutely sure you are being heard.
That is exactly why VinSpeak was created – a module that translates sign language into speech and text in real time.
❤️ This technology was not developed in a sterile lab based on dry market analysis. It was born out of real life.
The inspiration for creating the entire system, and the VinSpeak module in particular, came from the daily life of Włodzimierz – the father of our founder, Seweryn. Włodzimierz is deaf. Observing his daily struggles with simple, mundane situations showed us what a massive the lack of tools for natural, two-way conversation truly is.
We realized we didn't want to build just another "cool tech feature." We wanted to create something that restores people's dignity and full autonomy.
🔄 VinSpeak the rules of the game. It ensures that a deaf person is no longer just a passive recipient of messages, but a fully equal, active participant in the conversation. No middlemen, no asking for help, and completely on their own terms.
Because communication is about so much more than just exchanging information. It is about a sense of security, building relationships, and independence.
👥 To make sure VinSpeak truly meets real-world needs, we are developing it in close with the community. We consult every single detail with:
Deaf individuals who test the system in everyday situations, organizations supporting the deaf community, experts and a government sign language interpreter.
is part of our larger vision. We believe the future belongs to technology that understands people – regardless of how they communicate. We are removing barriers so that everyone has the opportunity to be truly understood.
What do you think? In your industries, does technology more often help people actively express themselves, or is it still mostly used for passive data consumption? Let's talk in the ! 👇
