Five channels all hitting a loud passage at once is where most multichannel amps run out of breath. The Focal 1000 IWLCR Utopia borrows driver tech from their freestanding flagships and puts it in a sealed in-wall enclosure. The midrange-and-tweeter module angles 15 degrees toward your seat, and one model rotates to serve left, right, or centre. Eversolo's engineers in Shenzhen put a streamer, DAC, phono stage, and 60W amplifier into that one enclosure, and the unibody construction is the reason it stays quiet doing it. A rear-firing AMT tweeter you can adjust by hand lets you dial the soundstage depth to your room instead of accepting whatever the speaker gives you. The Burmester BC150 uses that second AMT to widen the listening area too, so the seat off-centre still gets a coherent image. One 32 cm side woofer handles the bass.
