Sample Level accuracy with A/V Sync Precision Sync Marker (PSM)

Why not just use a beep?

A conventional tone can tell you roughly where an audio event occurs, but determining the exact starting point is much harder. Its waveform doesn't provide a uniquely identifiable reference point, and real-world recording and playback can make that point even less distinct.

A/V Sync's Precision Sync Marker is designed specifically to solve this problem. Its unique coded pattern gives the system a distinctive signature to find, allowing it to determine exactly where the marker occurs in the audio stream. Once that reference is located, A/V Sync can measure the audio/video offset with sample-level precision.

NetXScope distributed signal analysis for the enterprise

Flexible local or cloud deployment lets users anywhere view the facility's IP stream, SDI/HDMI, and file based inputs through professional diagnostic instruments with no per-station install.

NetXScope Server provides teams with on-demand access to analysis instruments including standard waveform/vectorscopes, Chromaticity display, and Audio scopes, as well as A/V sync, Spectrum analysis, IP analysis, Ancillary data, Captions, ST-2110 timing, PTP, and other specialized signal and data analysis instruments.

All tools and video are also available to NetXScope’s Consolidator servers, which can take multiple scopes, video, and data, and provide a MultiView via DVI, ST-2110, SDI, or SRT for facility-wide monitoring.

FastClip BitCache for Indexless Partial File Restore

Drastic's PFR reads only the minimum headers, footers, tables, and media structure needed to understand the file, then restores only the required media ranges. Later requests use this cached data, making often used clip ranges faster to access.

New FastClip BitCache Feature

Cloud Storage can time out and/or Index Caches be flushed, so we developed an on-disk cache, either local, or networked for multiple servers. This way we control the cached elements, and prioritize them based on:

■ how old the elements are
■ how big the assets are
■ how long they took to retrieve

One Request Caches the Bits

For many events, like live sports, one game will feature many important moments spread across 6-8 hours from multiple cameras. The new BitCache feature makes sure that when users request many short clips from the same game, only the first request downloads the file metadata. Subsequent requests use the BitCache to find and retrieve just their clips. This provides pre-indexed efficiency and speed, without have to index all of the required files.

Do you have EVS files you need to use elsewhere?

We have added read support for EVS MXF files including all its variants, for review, import, and transcode. EVS has a proprietary 'MXF' format they use, and EVS can also export in standard OP1a or OP-Atom containers, as well as AVI or MOV. All are fully supported by Drastic.

More importantly, we allow you to rewrite the metadata in these files.

Maybe the operator didn't specify the correct time of day during ingest? Possibly the venue or event details weren't updated with a new project? Drastic includes EVS File Metadata Rewrite capability so you can fix these types of bad metadata.
