How many places can you recognize? 👀📸

A visual recap of last month as we explored the Kingston-Galloway-Orton Park area. From the busy, to the quiet, the hidden and familiar places, capturing these spots was a great way to put our photography skills into practice.

We’re officially halfway through our workshop series!

Over the past few weeks, we’ve explored photography, placemaking, and the spaces that shape Kingston Galloway–Orton Park. It’s been great seeing everyone get more comfortable behind the camera while thinking more intentionally about the spaces and places around them.

Here’s a look back at a few moments behind the scenes captured by Manchind Singh 📸. Looking forward to seeing what everyone creates in the weeks ahead.

Thank you to East Scarborough Storefront Catholic Crosscultural Services (CCS) and AccessAllianceSustainability for sharing their spaces with us 🙏🏽

Places That Stayed is a photography and placemaking workshop series centered in the Kingston–Galloway–Orton Park (KGO) community. This project will engage local youth ages 18-29 in exploring photography as a tool to document, interpret, and reimagine public space, with a focus on underutilized infrastructure and everyday landscapes within their neighbourhood. Placemaking concepts will be covered by workshops with Scarborough Cycles’ very own Dr. Marvin Macaraig, sharing his expertise in community development, health promotion and active transportation.

This project is supported by AccessAllianceSustainability Scarborough Cycles + Access Alliance . Funded through the City of Toronto Cultural Hotspot Program City of Toronto Culture
