In early 2022, my dear friend and Derooted partner, Simon Rojas, had an engaging conversation with Victor Genova on the Media People Podcast. Simón shared his unique journey, starting with his birth in Santiago, , during the dictatorship, where his parents were part of the opposition.

This experience taught him the power artists have in resisting tyranny. Later, his family relocated to Toronto, Canada, where Simón discovered his passion for computers and graphic design.

He pursued this interest by enrolling at the International Academy of Art & Design, studying advertising and art direction. In the podcast, Simón discusses life under the Chilean dictatorship, the influential authors and artists in his life, working with large and boutique creative agencies, his experiences in Spain's creative industry, and balancing the roles of Partner and Creative Director.
