67 minutes can make a difference. But sometimes, the experience stays with you for much longer. ❤️

For Mandela Month, the Zinia team came together to support the Winnie Mabaso Foundation – an organisation already close to our community and doing extraordinary work in the lives of vulnerable children, young women and families.

It started at the office, where our team donated toiletries and spent our 67 Minutes for Mandela packing 22 care packs. Each contained everyday essentials, along with an extra little something special: a handmade scrunchie, lovingly made for every pack by one of our very talented Zinians.

Zinia added vegetable seeds, cleaning supplies, non-perishable food and a microwave to the donation.

But the best part came when some of our team had the opportunity to deliver everything and spend time at the Foundation.

We sang. We played. We answered some very curious questions. We showed the kids some technology that fascinated them. We spent time together on the playground. And we left with very full hearts.

We also got to see just how far the work of the Winnie Mabaso Foundation reaches.

Founded by Lisa Ashton MBE, the Foundation's story began in 2004 and today extends far beyond providing a safe and loving home for vulnerable girls. Ilamula House provides residential care for girls who have experienced abuse, abandonment, neglect or loss, while Tropic House provides a forever home for young women as they transition out of care.

Their impact reaches throughout the wider community: a Friday feeding station serving more than 1,500 people every week, vegetable-growing initiatives, a sewing school empowering unemployed women, a pre-school, homework club, sports programmes, family support initiatives, grocery distribution, and a satellite clinic providing essential health services.

It's difficult to capture all of that in a few photographs – but the happy faces come pretty close.

We're grateful that we could play one very small part in something much bigger, and even more grateful for the time we were able to spend with the incredible people who make what it is.

Thank you to every Zinian who donated, packed, handmade, carried, drove, played and gave their time. And thank you to Tsephi and the entire Winnie Mabaso Foundation team for welcoming us so warmly and for the remarkable work you do every day.

Mandela Month may be over, but making a difference doesn't have to be. ❤️

What stands between organisations and true cyber resilience?

A recent industry poll by Hewlett Packard Enterprise asked cybersecurity professionals:

"What's the hardest part of achieving true cyber resilience?"

The results were telling.

🔴 40% said Integration

🔴 31% said Visibility

Much lower down the list were Talent (14%) & Tool sprawl (13%)

The takeaway?

Most organisations aren't necessarily looking for more cybersecurity solutions. They're trying to make the technologies they already have work together more effectively.

Without integration, security tools operate in isolation.

Without visibility, critical threats can go unnoticed.

Cyber resilience isn't built by adding another dashboard or another product. It's built by creating a connected security ecosystem that provides clear visibility, simplifies operations and enables faster decision-making.

Should this workload move to the cloud?

It's one of the most common questions organisations ask.

The answer isn't always "yes."

Some applications perform better on-premises.

Others benefit from cloud scalability.

Many organisations achieve the best results with a hybrid approach.

The right decision starts with understanding your business requirements—not following trends. https://buff.ly/fMxWlbg

Sometimes it's important to pause and celebrate the wins.
Not because of the numbers.
But because of the people behind them.

The effort.
The commitment.
The teamwork.
The early mornings, late afternoons, and everything in between.

Every achievement is the result of individuals showing up consistently, supporting one another, and doing good work.

That's what we're really celebrating.
A chance to recognise the contributions of our team, spend some time together, and say thank you to the people who help make Zinia what it is.

Because success is never the work of one person.
It's built by a team.

👏 Thank you to everyone who continues to go above and beyond for our clients, colleagues, and business every day.

The biggest ransomware risk isn't what most organisations think. For the past three years, software vulnerabilities have been the leading cause of ransomware attacks.

Not anymore.

According to Sophos' State of Ransomware 2026, malicious emails (26%) and phishing (24%) have overtaken exploited vulnerabilities as the two most common attack methods. Together, they account for half of all ransomware incidents.

Technology remains essential, but this shift is a reminder that cybersecurity is just as much about people as it is about systems.

A well-trained employee who recognises a phishing email can stop an attack before any technology needs to.

Takeaway:
Invest in security awareness training alongside your technical security controls.

Birthdays at Zinia are never just another day. 🎈🎉 Around here, birthdays come with balloons, plenty of laughter, and a team that's always willing to make the day memorable.

Sometimes that means everyone squeezing into the office to sing (slightly off-key). Sometimes it means a little harmless embarrassment for the birthday person. And sometimes... it means every single item on your desk gets individually gift-wrapped. 😅

Taking time to celebrate each other reminds us that while we work hard, we also make space for the moments that bring people together. Those small moments create friendships, strengthen our culture, and make coming to work a little more enjoyable.

Happy Birthday to everyone we've celebrated recently. Here's to another year ahead!
