CRASA STRENGTHENS REGIONAL CAPACITY THROUGH PARTNERSHIP WITH WITS UNIVERSITY’S LINK CENTRE

CRASA and the LINK Centre at the University of the Witwatersrand formalised a new partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Wits University in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The partnership reflects CRASA’s continued commitment to strengthening the capacity of communications regulators across the SADC region and ensuring that the region is equipped to navigate an increasingly complex and rapidly evolving digital environment.

Through the MoU, CRASA and the LINK Centre will work together in areas including capacity building, professional development, applied research, knowledge exchange, and policy and regulatory development across the ICT, postal, audio-visual, digital media and broader digital sectors.

For CRASA and its Member Regulators, the partnership creates an important platform for bringing regulatory experience and academic expertise together to address emerging skills and regulatory gaps, strengthen evidence-informed policymaking and develop capacity in areas shaping the future of the communications sector.

As technologies, markets and digital services continue to evolve, regional cooperation and continuous learning will remain essential to building regulatory institutions that are responsive, forward-looking and prepared for emerging challenges.

The signing marks another step in CRASA’s efforts to advance regulatory harmonisation, institutional capacity and sustainable digital transformation across Southern Africa. We look forward to translating this partnership into meaningful initiatives and lasting impact for our Members and the wider SADC region.
