People, PLEASE stop buying counterfeit cables! If my price is three times that of another installer it's NOT because I'm ripping you off; it's because the other "installer" is selling you rubbish, knock-off cable.

NO Category anything standards makes provision for, or allows CCA (Copper Clad Aluminium) cable. In fact, they explicitly say that the cable must ONLY consist of PURE Copper conductors. I can link you to the standards if you wish.

There is never a good reason to install this junk! NEVER! Some vendors will have you believe it's OK to use CCA on "shorter runs", or "To a high site that doesn't use PoE" or what ever makes them sleep better at night. RUBBISH!

You WILL suffer degraded network speeds, you WILL compromise the integrity of your network. Your cable WILL fail.

Here is a quick little demonstration between the difference in quality of pure copper cable vs CCA Cable...
