During our visit to Seriously Cinema in London, we had the opportunity to experience their M&K Sound 300 Series demonstration cinema.
This room was designed to showcase the performance of the M&K 300 Series in a full immersive audio environment. The system is laid out in a 7.6.8 Dolby Atmos / DTS:X hybrid configuration, using M&K 300 Series speakers throughout the room, with six M&K C15s subwoofers providing the low-frequency performance.
Processing is handled by a Trinnov Altitude 32, allowing the system to be calibrated with a very high level of precision, including individual control of the subwoofers.
The most impressive part of the experience was the way the system combined power with accuracy. The bass was huge when required, but it never felt slow or uncontrolled. Surround effects moved effortlessly through the room, and the speakers seemed to disappear into the sound field.
This was a valuable opportunity for us to experience a true reference-level M&K cinema and to better understand how these systems perform when designed, installed and calibrated at this level.
For anyone considering a serious dedicated cinema, this kind of demonstration is incredibly useful. It shows how speaker choice, layout, processing, amplification and calibration all work together to create the final experience.
