Hieu, found us through a job post, and recognized a familiar name: Linagora, a long-time partner of his university, Hanoi University of Science and Technology. He applied. Here's what he discovered:

➡️ Real work, open-source contributions
➡️ A culture where open source goes beyond the codebase
➡️ A shift in how he thinks about technology, and who it's really for

A meeting lasts one hour. Collaboration lasts all day 🙂

Especially when your teams are thousands of kilometers apart, working across different 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘇𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀, 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 and 𝗿𝗵𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗺𝘀.

At 𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗚𝗢𝗥𝗔, collaboration between our teams in France and Vietnam rarely starts or ends during a meeting.

It often begins earlier :
🗓️ A workshop scheduled in 𝗧𝘄𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿.
📝 A product demo prepared collaboratively before the call and some important keypoints to remember, written on 𝗧𝘄𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀.
💬 Technical discussions already moving asynchronously in 𝗧𝘄𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝘁.

Then comes the meeting itself: a conversation in 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼, where ideas, feedback and decisions move quickly between teams.
But the collaboration doesn’t stop there.

📄 A document keeps evolving in 𝗧𝘄𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲.
📩 An update arrives a few hours later through 𝗧𝘄𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗹.

New questions emerge as another team starts its day on the other side of the world. Because modern collaboration is no longer about being connected at the exact same moment. It’s about 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀, 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘇𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀.

That’s also how we think about twake.ai: not as a collection of tools, but as a workspace designed around the real flow of collaboration.

After more than 𝟮𝟱 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻-𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀, this vision still shapes the way we work every day: open, collaborative and interoperable by design.

🚀 New: 𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐝 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐮𝐠𝐢𝐧 is available!
Sending a file by email is one of the simplest daily gestures in business. But today, almost any file can become "large": rich presentations, collaborative documents, exports, media... Uses have evolved.

The problem is that the limits of email haven't really changed. As a result, we regularly find ourselves blocked for a basic action.

👉🏼 File too large⇒ Server refuses to send ⇒ Mailbox saturated.
And in those moments, we don't look for an ideal solution, we look for a quick solution. We compress, we bypass, or we use an external tool, often in a hurry.

💡 It is exactly to respond to this discrepancy that we developed the Thunderbird plugin from linshare.app . The idea is simple: not to change uses, but to eliminate the problem at the source. In concrete terms, you continue to send your emails as usual:

📎 you add your file
➡️ LinShare automatically takes over
🔒 A secure link is generated
⚙️ Your organization's access rules are enforced
📩 The recipient receives the document without blocking

This type of situation may seem anecdotal, but it is repeated dozens of times a day in an organization. It is precisely in these micro-frictions that both the loss of time and the loss of time are played out. And the circumvention of security rules.

Last week in Hanoi, our President Alexandre Zapolsky and Diana Potokina reunited with the LINAGORA Vietnam teams.

An important visit to spend time with the people who contribute every day to the development of our open-source and AI technologies. And ultimately, the people behind LINAGORA are also this.

The topics everyone is talking about today open AI, digital sovereignty, technological independence, are not built only through conferences or strategy slides. They are built by teams capable of growing, building and innovating together over time.

👉🏼 And in Vietnam, this is exactly what we have been doing together for more than 10 years.

During the trip:
🤝 discussions with our teams and team leaders
🌍 meetings with European and institutional partners engaged in digital and innovation topics in Vietnam
🏅 celebration of several collaborators with more than 5 years at LINAGORA Vietnam
🎤 sharing the company vision, roadmap and upcoming projects
and of course, more informal moments together as colleagues!

This visit was also marked by valuable exchanges with European partners present in Vietnam, including Ulrich Weigl - 吴睿史 (Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam) and Elliott Potter (Business France Vietnam), continuing ongoing discussions around open digital ecosystems and technological cooperation between Europe and Vietnam.

As Alexandre Zapolsky reminded the teams during this visit:
“𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌 𝒘𝒆 𝒅𝒐 𝒊𝒏 𝒐𝒑𝒆𝒏 𝒔𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒄𝒆 𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒖𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒍𝒚 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒃𝒖𝒕𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅. 𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒃𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒅 𝒐𝒇 𝒊𝒕.”

And honestly, without the commitment, talent and energy of our Vietnamese teams over the years, LINAGORA would simply not be what it is today. Thank you to all of them for being part of this journey. ❤️

📍 Vietnam, 10 years and counting - Welcoming our Board of Directors, Alexandre Zapolsky and Diana Potokina! 🇻🇳🤝🇫🇷

Our President Alexandre Zapolsky and Vice President of Software Development Diana Potokina have just arrived in Hanoi to visit our Linagora Vietnam team!

And basically, this visit tells quite well what has been driving us for years.
🤝 We have been developing open source technologies in Vietnam for more than 10 years, in a logic of cooperation, transmission and common construction.

A very concrete way to defend what we have been carrying for more than 25 years:
👉 A shared vision: an open, sovereign digital technology, free from dependency on any single dominant model.

As AI, digital infrastructure and digital sovereignty become increasingly strategic challenges, the Franco-Vietnamese cooperation in open source is taking on a whole new dimension, reflected in Alexandre's exchanges with Julien Guerrier, Ambassador of the European Union to Vietnam, and with President Emmanuel Macron during his state visit to Vietnam, which also marked the occasion of the French Tech Summit Vietnam 2025.

We are proud to be part of this journey! 🙌

Less than 1 second: that's how long it takes LinTO to transcribe, translate, and display your subtitles! 🚀

At LINAGORA, we contribute and we manufacture artificial intelligence tools.
👉🏼 linto.ai allows you to transcribe your meetings, video conferences, audio files and public interventions.

Totally Free and Open Source, LinTO allows you to choose from the classic transcription engines (Whisper, Vosk, Voxtral, Parakeet...) or those that we have published ourselves (still under a Free License) and which offer performance gains of up to 1000%!

✨ And of course, we make all these innovations available to our customers on the SOVEREIGN cloud, hosted entirely in France: not a single word of yours will leave the territory!

🚨 pgBackRest is no longer maintained...

pgBackRest is one of the most widely used tools for backup. Today, its main maintainer is withdrawing, due to a lack of funding and sponsors, despite massive adoption.

📢 Beyond the announcement, it is above all a reminder: some critical open source building blocks are based on fragile balances, especially in a context where investments are shifting strongly towards AI.

But it's also a structural reality of open source. A project can become essential... without its maintenance being guaranteed over time, for economic or human reasons, or simply because priorities change. ⚙️

In fact, everything cannot stop overnight. Changing bricks is not always immediate: sometimes it is simple, but sometimes it involves dependencies, costs or transformations that take time.

🤝🏼 It is precisely at these times that LINAGORA 's (Open Source Software Assurance) takes over and ensures the continuity of critical open source components when they are no longer maintained by their community.

👉 So if you use pgBackRest, rest assured: we are continuing the maintenance of this brick.

Hello, sustainable future powered by people 🌍

A few moments from the team, on the field, on the court, or simply offline. Nothing planned, nothing structured... Just real life, shared between people who also happen to work together.

That continuity matters more than it seems because it shapes how we collaborate day to day. And, over time, how we design and build our tools, closer to real use, with fewer layers, and less unnecessary complexity.

⚙️ Because software isn’t neutral.

It’s a good reminder: every tool runs on real infrastructure, consumes energy, and has an impact. So the question isn’t just WHAT we build, but HOW we build it.

Building in the open often leads to different choices: reusing what already exists, avoiding unnecessary duplication, letting systems evolve instead of constantly replacing them. Less waste, more intention.

In the end, it always comes back to people, choosing how things are built, shared, and sustained. 🌱

Global teams don’t run on calendars, they run on coordination across realities.
At Linagora, between France and Vietnam, public holidays don’t happen at the same time and that’s actually a useful reminder of how distributed work really operates. Here’s a snapshot of the upcoming public holidays across our teams:

🇻🇳 Vietnam
• Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day - Monday, April 27
• Reunification Day - Thursday, April 30
• International Labour Day - Friday, May 1

🇫🇷 France
• International Labour Day - Friday, May 1
• Victory in Europe Day - Friday, May 8
• Ascension Day - Thursday, May 14

During these periods, our teams will be partially offline, not because work stops, but because coordination shifts. On paper, these are just dates. In reality, they shape delivery cycles, support coverage, and the way work flows across teams. There are overlapping rhythms and a shared responsibility for continuity.

Wishing everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday, wherever you are in this shared rhythm. We’ll sync up again soon 😉
