Before you buy a new remote, check the device it controls
TVs, streaming boxes, cable boxes, soundbars, and DVD players can all have their own remotes. When something stops responding, it is easy to blame the remote right away.
Sometimes the remote does need batteries or replacement. But sometimes the issue is the input setting, a disconnected cable, a paired device, or the equipment itself not receiving the signal.
That is why guessing can get expensive.
Crossroads Helpdesk can help review compatible devices, explain what may be happening, and help you understand whether the issue appears to be the remote, the settings, or the equipment it controls.
Bring the remote, streaming device, tablet, or related equipment next Thursday if it is portable. Photos of the setup can also help.
A clear answer can save you from buying the wrong replacement.
