Need an excuse for a new Warhammer 40,000 army?
Join our GAME BOX COMBAT PATROL PAINT OFF!

Sign up for the Game Box Combat Patrol Paint Off. There are 22 spots for contestants. Entry Fee is $170, contestants will get a random combat patrol, 7 paint citadel color pots and a rattle can of primer of their choice. Sign ups will begin in September 2026 and end when all spots are full.

Awards!
First place prize will 1,000 points of models for your Combat Patrol faction , ordered through Game Box.
Second and Third place will be a model or unit valued at $80 or less.
Contestants can pick up their combat patrol and paints and pay their fee starting on October 1st, there will be hobby weekends at Game Box on October 10 and 24, contestants will submit their painted combat patrols on November 2 for judging and to display their armies at Game Box. Judges will have a week to grade submissions. The event will culminate in award announcements on November 14, 2026.

Restrictions:
All models for this event must be from the Combat Patrol given to the participant.
Participants are not limited to the colors selected as their 7 paint pots and rattle can, but those colors should be represented on their entry.
Participants are encouraged to but not required to participate on hobby days or post their progress to the shop's discord server.
All Combat Patrols must be purchased at Game Box for you to be able to participate.
Painting Rubric - What we are judging on.
Overall painting and cohesion of the army.
Painting quality and effort.
Basing and finishing details.
Conversions, customization, and creativity.
Display board or themed elements.
