If you weren’t at Beyond the Build, here’s a little bit of what you missed. 👀

This is what we wanted the event to be from the beginning.

Not rehearsed talking points.
Not panelists giving the “right” answer.
Not everyone politely agreeing with each other.

We wanted to hear how different leaders think.

Give them the same question and you quickly realize there isn’t always one answer—because experience, industry, leadership style and perspective completely change how someone approaches a problem.

That’s where the interesting conversations started.

These clips are only pieces of what happened in the room, but we’re going to keep sharing them because some of these answers deserve a conversation of their own.

Watch. Pick the answer that made you think. Then tell us your take.

And if these clips have you wishing you were there for the full conversation…

Stay close.

Beyond the Build isn’t finished. 🏗️

What started as an idea became a room we won’t forget.

We’ve spent the last few days hearing feedback from Beyond the Build, and it has been phenomenal.

What means the most is hearing people talk about the conversations they had, the people they met, the perspectives they hadn’t considered before, and the discussions that continued long after the panel ended.

That was the entire reason we created this.

Thank you to our panelists Talisha Faber, Gary Hartfield, Miles Maltbie and Estè Lully for being willing to bring your experiences, perspectives and opinions to the room—and to Michael Hall for moderating a conversation that was allowed to actually be a conversation.

And thank you to everyone who showed up and participated. Beyond the Build was never intended to be an audience sitting quietly while a panel talked at them. You asked questions, challenged ideas, made connections and helped shape where the conversation went.

We also couldn't have done this without the support of our incredible sponsors:
Workscapes— Venue + Food & Beverage Sponsor
Suncoast Credit Union — Industry Partner
Jack-IT — Social Media Sponsor
Good Tech For Impact Podcast — After-Event Sponsor

Thank you for believing in the vision and helping us bring it to life.

We walked away from Thursday knowing one thing for certain:
This can't be the last Beyond the Build.

So it won't be. 🏗️

We’re already looking ahead, and we can't wait to announce when and where we'll be doing this again.

To everyone who helped make the first Beyond the Build what it was:
Thank you. We built this one together. 🧡

A big thank you to Suncoast Credit Union for sponsoring Beyond the Build and helping make the September 24 conversation possible.

Suncoast is Florida’s largest credit union, serving more than 1.5 million members statewide with more than $22 billion in assets.

What we especially appreciate is the community philosophy behind the organization: “people helping people.”

Since 1990, the Suncoast Credit Union Foundation has raised and donated more than $68 million to organizations and initiatives supporting children’s health, education, and emotional well-being.

Beyond the Build was about bringing different perspectives into the same room — business, technology, workforce, capital, leadership, and community — and asking better questions about where we go next.

Support from partners like Suncoast helps make those conversations possible.

Thank you, Suncoast Credit Union, for your support, partnership, and continued investment in the communities you serve.

The signs are going up.
The room is being set.
And an idea we’ve been talking about for months becomes real tonight.

Beyond the Build is here.

There’s something different about the day an event stops living in emails, planning calls, graphics, spreadsheets and behind-the-scenes conversations—and becomes an actual room full of people.

That’s today.

By 5:30 tonight, Workscapes will be filled with people who chose to spend their evening meeting someone new, hearing something different, and being part of what we’ve been building toward.

No big pitch from me today.

We’ve told you what Beyond the Build is.
We’ve introduced you to the people involved.
We’ve shared why we created it.

Now it’s time to actually do it.

To everyone joining us tonight: we can’t wait to welcome you.

And if today is the day you decide you want to be there, registration is still open.

Hear from Talisha Faber on why she’s excited to be part of Beyond the Build. 🏗️

One thing Talisha said that perfectly captures what we’re creating on September 24th: she’s excited to see where the disruptive conversation turns.

So are we.

Because we didn’t build this panel to arrive at predetermined answers.

We built it to bring different perspectives into the same room and see what happens when we start asking harder questions about leadership, technology, workforce, capital, economic development, community, and the future of construction.

Talisha brings a perspective that crosses several of those worlds—and that’s exactly why her voice belongs at this table.

This won’t be four people giving rehearsed answers while a moderator moves down a list of questions.

We want the follow-up question.
The unexpected answer.
The respectful disagreement.
The conversation none of us planned for.

Hear from Talisha on what she’s looking forward to, wish her a happy birthday—and then come see where the conversation takes us.

One leader hearing a good idea is useful.

Several leaders hearing the same conversation can actually change something.

A lot gets lost between “I heard something interesting at an event” and actually putting an idea into practice.

Operations needs to understand it. Technology has to know whether it works. Finance needs the numbers. The people side has to account for adoption, capacity, and ex*****on.

That’s why Beyond the Build isn’t just an event to attend alone.

Consider bringing 2–4 people responsible for different areas of your business so your team can hear the conversation together, ask different questions, and decide what is actually worth bringing back into the organization.

Owner. Operations. Technology. Finance. People.

Different responsibilities. Same business.

Hear it together. Decide what comes back with you.

Leadership in construction is changing—and the leaders willing to change with it are going to shape what comes next. 🏗️

Esther Lully is joining us at Beyond the Build, and she’s bringing a perspective we need more of in this industry: leadership isn’t just about managing projects, teams, deadlines, or growth. It’s about how we lead people through change, how we create room for different voices, and what kind of industry we’re building for the people coming next.

This is exactly why we built this panel with perspectives from outside the traditional construction echo chamber.

Because the future of construction won’t be built by construction alone.

Hear what Esther is excited to bring to the conversation 👆—then come be part of it with us.

A better conversation usually starts with people who don’t all see the problem the same way.

That’s exactly how we built Beyond the Build.

We’re bringing together perspectives from economic development, investment, technology, operations, community leadership, strategy, and business because the decisions shaping construction’s future aren’t being made inside construction alone.

The goal isn’t agreement.

It’s a room where the same issue can be examined from several sides — and where a good answer might lead to an even better question.

Take a look through the carousel.

Which question would you most want this group to answer?

“That's just part of construction.”

How many problems have survived because someone said that sentence?

Late decisions.
Bad handoffs.
Technology nobody actually adopts.
Growth that creates more chaos than capacity.

Beyond the Build isn't another conversation about everything changing around construction.

We're interested in what needs to change inside it.

Leadership. Technology. Capital. Workforce. Trust. Growth.

Different perspectives. One room. Questions worth actually answering.

We talk about AI behind closed doors all the time.

Not the polished “AI is changing everything” conversation.

The real one.

Where does AI actually make people better at their jobs? Where does human intelligence still matter more? What happens when technology is built for people without actually listening to the people expected to use it?

Our Co-Founder, Miles Maltbie, is taking those conversations out from behind closed doors with a new podcast centered around AI + HI: Artificial Intelligence + Human Intelligence.

And we’re kicking it off LIVE at Beyond the Build on September 24.

This first episode won’t just feature executives, leadership, or people with impressive titles.

We want the people actually doing the work in the conversation.

Project managers. Field teams. Estimators. Superintendents. Owners. Technologists. People who love AI. People who question it. And people who are tired of being handed another piece of technology they never asked for.

If you’re attending Beyond the Build, you’ll have the opportunity to step up, share your perspective, and potentially become part of the very first episode.

Because if we’re going to talk about how AI and humans should work together, humans should probably be included in the conversation.

No scripts. No manufactured talking points. Just real people talking about what’s actually happening.
