Most break-ins at small businesses still start the same way: somebody's password got stolen.

Passkeys fix the root problem. Your device proves it's you with a fingerprint or your face, and there's no password to phish, guess, or leak. They're not experimental anymore. Your Microsoft or Google account supports them today.

Start with your email account, because email is the skeleton key to everything else. If you only change one login habit this year, that's the one.

When someone breaks into a business email account, the first thing they often do isn't dramatic. They quietly add a forwarding rule.

Every invoice, every payment conversation, every message about money gets copied to them, silently. And here's the part that catches people: changing the password doesn't remove the rule. The attacker is locked out, but the mail keeps flowing to them anyway.

If your business has ever had a compromised account, or you're not sure, go look at your inbox rules and forwarding settings right now. It takes two minutes and you will not spot it unless you look.

This is one of the specific things our identity monitoring watches for on client accounts, because it's exactly the kind of thing nobody thinks to look for on their own.

Microsoft is putting Copilot on business computers whether you asked for it or not. Before your team starts using it, ask yourself one question: if an employee could ask a robot to find any file they technically have access to, what would it find?

Copilot can read anything the person using it can open. In most offices, that's far more than anyone realizes. A folder got shared with "everyone" for a project in 2021 and nobody ever closed it. HR files. Payroll. The spreadsheet with everyone's raises.

Nobody stumbled into those files before because nobody went digging. Copilot digs. That's its job. Someone asks "what does our company pay for X" and it answers from whatever it can see.

If your office handles patient records or client financials, an employee surfacing files they were never supposed to see is a reportable problem.

Get someone to review your file permissions before the team starts asking Copilot questions. Start with HR and finance folders. We do this as part of every compliance assessment, because it's where the surprises live.

A client says they never got your email. Or your invoice turned up in their spam folder.
Check your domain for free: https://tools.tech360solutions.com

A lot of the time, the cause is your domain. Three public DNS records tell the receiving mail server whether a message really came from you. SPF is the guest list of servers allowed to send as you. DKIM is a seal that proves the message wasn't changed on the way. DMARC is the rule for anything that fails those two checks: deliver it, send it to spam, or reject it.

Gmail, Yahoo, and Microsoft now filter harder against domains that fail these checks. The same gaps make it easier for a scammer to send email as you.

The video walks through all three in about a minute. The checker grades your domain on all three, A through F, in plain English. No signup.

If a website ever tells you to press Windows+R and paste in a command to "prove you're human," close the tab. Immediately.

That's a scam with a name, ClickFix, and the command installs malware the second you hit Enter. A real CAPTCHA asks you to click on pictures of traffic lights. It never asks you to run a command on your computer.

This one works because it makes the victim do the technical part themselves. No attachment to scan, no link to flag. Just polite instructions.

Tell your team this one sentence: no website ever needs you to run a command. That's the whole defense.

Most of these pages arrive as a link in an email. If you want to know whether one would have made it to your team's inbox, book 15 minutes with me and we'll look together: https://tech360solutions.com/review

Three DNS records stop it: SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.

Here's the catch most businesses miss. DMARC has a setting, and most companies who have it at all have it set to "monitor." Monitor mode watches the spoofing happen and takes notes. It blocks nothing.

You can check your own business in about thirty seconds with our free tool. No signup, nothing stored, it just reads your public DNS records and grades them in plain English.

Does anyone at your company actually know the passwords to your routers and your server?
Full story: https://www.tech360solutions.com/articles/two-weeks-without-a-fix

A local company found out theirs the hard way. The connection between their two offices went down, and it stayed down for about two weeks. Not because the problem was hard (the eventual fix took minutes), but because their IT person was a relative who'd moved out of state for college, and every password went with him. Staff sat asking when things would work again. Nobody could even log in to look.

Two things to check today: who you'd call if your network broke, and whether your passwords are written down somewhere the business controls. Either answer being "I don't know" is the same spot they were in.

Here's how good these scams have gotten. A bookkeeper at a local company had a real QuickBooks problem and opened a real support ticket. Then her phone rang: tech support, about a QuickBooks issue. The timing was pure coincidence (scammers cold-call about QuickBooks constantly), but think about what that coincidence did. She had a problem, she'd asked for help, and help called.

The fake agent invented an overdue invoice, took a card payment through software he had her install, and left that software running on her machine. It was named QuickBooks Support Manager. Nothing on screen looked wrong.

The monitoring already on her computer flagged it the same day. Final damage: one cancelled card, one disputed charge, nothing else touched.

The rule that beats this scam: an incoming call is never proof of who's calling, no matter how much they seem to know. Hang up, call back through the number on the vendor's real website. Real support will never be offended. Share that with whoever pays the bills at your office.
