In the competitive digital market, data-driven decision-making determines a product manager's success or failure. Product managers often lack the experience and resources to set up and maintain pipelines to gather comprehensive usage data from their applications. Most product managers track vanity metrics such as page visits and don't capture micro-interaction data sets. In doing so, they complete

"Now you have something to bring to the table."

A customer had known about the problem since December.

Users dropping off mid-login. The OTP code not arriving. Others hitting cancel on the PIN screen and getting logged out entirely, forced back through the whole verification flow.

He'd raised it. It hadn't moved.

On a call with Germano D'Angelo, they opened Tara and asked one question: what are the main issues on login?

Verification failures. Session abandonment during OTP wait. PIN gate friction. Six out of fifteen sessions, each with a recording.

He looked at the screen: "That's exactly what I said. And we lose money because of this."

Now he had something to bring to the table.

How long has something been sitting on your backlog that you already know is broken?

"The analyst's answer arrived on Thursday. The sprint had closed the previous Friday."

Harry James Coburn was on a call with a fintech product team when this came up.

They'd caught a KYC drop-off early in the sprint. The request went in. A week later, the analysis landed; thorough, correct, exactly what they'd been waiting for.

The sprint had already shipped.

The team had moved forward on the best information they had at the time. By the time the full picture arrived, the decision was done. The insight became a record of a moment that had already passed.

Harry hears this on calls a lot from Product teams who care, who invest in the analysis, who do the work, and still find themselves on the wrong side of the timing gap.

The analysis cycle and the product cycle run at different speeds. The insight has to arrive while the decision is still open, or it has nowhere to go.

The sprint doesn't wait for the insight. So the insight has to get there first.

Speed of insight is a product decision. The teams who get it right have built a shorter path from question to answer and short enough that the data still has a decision to land in.

61% of guest users close the account creation modal and never come back to checkout.

That's not a hypothesis. That's Tara AI watching real sessions and reporting back.

No funnel to build. No analyst to brief. No waiting.

Just ask a question, get an answer — with the session evidence to back it up.

We built a carousel showing 3 checkout problems Tara diagnosed for e-commerce teams. The insights (and fixes) might surprise you. Swipe 👇

"We had the problem for months. The answer took ten minutes."

A team lead was in a meeting with commercial stakeholders.

Someone raised a pattern nobody could explain: users logging into the app, staying—but not engaging with a single product. Not a quick bounce. Just presence without purpose.

The team knew about it. It had come up before. But investigating it properly would cost more time than anyone had. So it stayed on the list.

Mid-meeting, the team lead sent a message to their analyst: ask Tara to find this.

Ten minutes later, the answer was in the room. Presented in the same meeting where the problem had just been raised.

Carol Soares works in Customer Success at UXCam. She sees this constantly — teams carrying questions they can't afford to investigate, until the cost of asking drops to almost nothing.

The problem hadn't changed. The time it took to answer it had.

"We watched every session. Learned nothing."

The fix: don't start with the sessions. Start with the question. Watch fewer sessions, but the right ones.

Most teams with session recording installed open it the same way: scroll through recordings, hope something stands out, close the tab an hour later with nothing actionable.

It's the product analytics version of Netflix. You can watch for hours. Without a reason to be there, you won't find anything worth acting on.

Fernanda Zulianello works with product teams across LATAM and beyond. She hears this constantly.

Her fix: arrive with a question before you open a single recording. What are users doing at this step? Where are they spending too long? What are they tapping that isn't responding?

A question turns thousands of sessions into a filter. You're not watching everything anymore. You're watching the sessions that can answer the thing you already need to know.

You'll watch fewer sessions. But you'll learn more from each one.
The data was always there. The habit of using it with intention; that's what changes everything.

Does your team watch session recordings regularly, or does the tool mostly sit unopened? What gets in the way?

"We had 6,000 sessions. We needed 12."

The method: start with the funnel, not the sessions. Filter to the one step where users drop off. You don't need 6,000. You need 12.

Most teams install behavioral analytics and never open them again.

Not because the data isn't there. Because opening the tool means 6,000 sessions staring back at you; and no idea where to start.

So the tab stays closed. The backlog grows. The drop-off nobody can explain keeps dropping.

Jana Martins works with product teams around the world. She hears this every week.

Her fix: don't start with the sessions. Start with the funnel.

Find the one step where more than half your users disappear. Filter recordings to that step; specific device, last 30 days.

6,000 sessions becomes 12.

Watch those 12. You'll almost always find the same thing repeating. A form field rejecting valid input. Users hitting a wall, then leaving without a word.

That's the kind of finding you act on in an afternoon.

Conversion doesn't die in the chart. It dies in the experience.

The data was always there. The system to get from everything to the one thing that mattered; that's what was missing.

Does your team have behavioral analytics installed but nobody's really using them? What gets in the way?

Need a way to stay on top of your KPI goals?

Here’s how:

—

1. Improve Feature Adoption

How do you know if users are engaging with your new feature?

Product teams and customer success teams can use UXCam to analyze user interactions with new or existing features.

e.g. the analysis could be on users engaging with “document uploads” or “uploading pictures”.

A dashboard can be created to track:

→ Meaningful engagements.
→ How often users use it.
→ Do they come back or not?

This will give a good measure of adoption rate and engagement levels.

—

2. Optimize Your Conversion Funnels

Understanding how users move through your product and where they drop off is key to optimizing conversion funnels.

Product and marketing teams can gain insights into user behavior and identify drop-off points that hinder conversion rates.

For example, marketers can analyze the user journey, segment users based on devices or behaviors, and diagnose the root causes of user behavior issues.

With these insights, they can make informed decisions to improve conversion rates by addressing user needs, expectations, and usage patterns.

—

3. Better Analysis of User Behavior and Page Navigation

User behavior and page navigation analysis is crucial for improving product usability.

Product teams, UX designers, and developers can use UXCam to identify navigation patterns, such as users making frequent U-turns, indicating confusion.

By identifying these nuisances, teams can make necessary adjustments, like clarifying pricing information, to enhance the user experience.

—

4. Optimize for Different Browsers and Devices

UXCam helps product teams and developers identify the most commonly used browsers and devices by their users.

This insight allows them to prioritize compatibility and performance improvements accordingly.

—

If you’re ready to take your product management and optimization efforts to the next level, consider integrating UXCam into your workflows to see measurable improvements and meet your KPI targets efficiently.
