Gaming is evolving, and it’s becoming more accessible than ever. 🖐️✨
Check out “The Last Vigil,” an incredible project from John Lee and Aaron Shin created at 2025. They’ve built a tower defense game that is entirely keyboard and mouse-free, using computer vision to turn American Sign Language (ASL) into a magic-casting system!
While you defend your base, you’re actually learning ASL gestures to trigger spells. The team also integrated head-tracking to allow players to aim and move the camera just by moving their face.
The technical highlight? To ensure the game ran smoothly in a web browser without lag, they offloaded the heavy AI calculations to a Vultr Cloud Computing backend. It’s a perfect example of using thin-client architecture to bring complex AI models to the web.
We love seeing builders push the boundaries of how we interact with technology! 🚀
