Back on Track!
Liebe Protonet User*innen,
heute war ein Tag, der uns und Euch einmal mehr die Anfälligkeit von IT-Systemen vor Augen geführt hat. Die gute Nachricht vorab "We are back on track" und alle Protonet Instanzen laufen wieder. Unsere gesamte IT Netzwerkstruktur haben wir in einem deutschen Rechenzentrum verankert. Das ist gut so und wird von Dir und anderen Kunden auch geschätzt. Manchmal läuft aber auch in 'good old germany' etwas nicht ganz rund und das hat heute zu einem temporären Ausfall aller Protonet Instanzen geführt. Glücklicherweise konnten wir alle Kunden schnell wieder online bringen. Die Kollegen untersuchen derzeit noch, woran es gelegen haben kann und bauen dann einen Alert davor, damit wir zukünftig noch zügiger reagieren können.

Neues aus dem Protonet-Entwickler-Team!

Ihr werdet es nicht glauben - die neue SOUL Mobile App ist fertig - in Version 1 ;)!

Wir haben im iOS App Store bereits aus versehen auf den "Publish" Knopf gedrückt - einige findige Nutzer haben sie also bereits gefunden.

Wir bereiten gerade noch die Google Play Store Version vor und melden uns mit einem offiziellen Announcement in Kürze!

- Instant navigation between notifications and private chats
- Significant speed improvement on loading groups

News from Protonet development!! ☺️

SOUL 4.3 is in the works with lots of big and small improvements!

- Descriptions for tasks 😳 - it'll finally be possible to manage all relevant information in one place. The full power of the new notes feature is now also available in the tasks/todos.
- New list view for the calendar function - good for getting an overview and a plus for people who like to print lists 😄
- New task list overview with the possibility of ′′pinning′′ important task lists for yourself or the group
- Emoji message reactions - give quick feedback without having to write a full message
- New SMB (Samba) version - the latest available Samba version with many, many, many improvements, security fixes - additionally supports SMB3 for new operating systems
- first part of the new Docker based architecture

+ a whole bunch of improvements and bug fixes.

Lastly: we've just released a new version of the SOUL Mobile App beta! Have fun with it and let us know how you like the changes!! 🚀

Alrighty - SOUL 4.2 has now been pushed into QA! Coming to a Protonet Box near you:

- Meep (message) editing - finally 🎉😄
- Mark meeps as reminders - special little reactions that help you track action items in chats before you file them in lists
- Much improved background workers - saving memory and making SOUL faster under load
- Improved admin search status allows for better recovery when search issues occur
- Fixes for document mentions, notifications syncing and backup drive detection

News from the Protonet Crew!

SOUL 4.1 is going into QA now - we've primarily worked on SOUL usage speed and bugfixes in this update.

Due to COVID we were able to welcome larger schools and districts to our userbase who now use SOUL with over 1000 users concurrently. That's awesome - aaand - we've had to get in the trenches on some of our technical architecture and rework it.

Fortunately these performance improvements are going to make SOUL faster for everyone ;).

ps. We are still working steadily on the new SOUL Mobile App - an updated beta is planned for next week!

SOUL 4.0 Alert

Liebe Protonet UserInnen,

wir bringen Euch mal auf den neusten Stand: Wir hatten einen Fehler im Release, der die Veröffentlichung verzögert hat. Der Fehler trat nicht regelmäßig auf, dadurch ist die Reproduktion und die Lösung kompliziert gewesen. Wir testen gerade die vierte Beta/123 Version, so dass SOUL 4 alsbald veröffentlicht werden kann.
