This PC came in with a strange issue—it wouldn't shut down properly and reported a CPU temperature of nearly 198°F.

After checking the actual temperature, we found it was much lower. A closer inspection under the microscope revealed the real cause: one bent pin in the CPU socket.

Tiny assembly mistakes can lead to inaccurate readings, unstable performance, and frustrating troubleshooting.

Does your laptop feel harder to open or close? That could be the first sign of a bigger problem.

Over time, dust and debris can make the hinges stiff. As more force is needed to open the screen, the plastic mounting points inside the laptop can eventually break, leading to a much more complex repair.

In this repair, we disassembled the laptop, cleaned the hinge mechanism, adjusted the hinge tension, and restored smooth operation to help prevent future damage.

Before a laptop screen or hinge can be repaired, the display bezel has to come off.

It may look simple, but the bezel is held in place with strong adhesive. Applying too much force or using the wrong technique can crack the display, turning a routine repair into a much bigger problem.

That's why every step is done carefully, using the right tools and plenty of patience.

Not every older iMac needs to be replaced.

In this case, the original hard drive had failed, but upgrading to an SSD and adding more RAM can dramatically improve performance for everyday tasks. Since this model uses DDR3 memory, the upgrade is much more affordable than newer systems.
